The guy concerned (no me) went to Immigration today and has his additional 30 days.
Thanks for all the advice and tips. In his case he didn't want the trip to Cambodia as he is unwell so a short trip to Buriram and 15 minutes was just the ticket.

Map for 14.345705 104.058405

Highlight above - right click - search Google for - will bring up a map for the border crossing.

Or, put coordinates straight into google maps.

Thx, I use the coordinates only, I put them into Garmin BaseCamp to put direct into my GPS.

Wheel chairs available at CC. I can buy beer with the petrol money I save. My wife doesn't go with me.Secure parking at CC. There are casinos at CC. I don't use them. There are taxis to Siem Reap. You can drive a car or a motorbike across CC. I have never had a problem with people being unfriendly there. So...is it worth travelling an extra 140kms to save 600 baht?

I have to agree. I have been on a Multi 'O' for many years now and use CC all the time . At first it bugged me having to pay the 300 baht tip  ::) to return the same day ( plus their reluctance to take $'s ) but the cost and time of travelling to another border crossing to save a few baht just seemed to be cutting off your nose to spite your face
I'm due another trip early next month,if I leave at 8am I can be home by 11.30am but I normally use the trip to call into friends at the same time . The crossing can takes less than 15-20 minutes as I now know the score . I park my Bike 30 meters from the Thai Immigration post which make's the border hop even quicker, and even quicker as like Starman I go alone and luckily I don't need a wheelchair ....yet  oldmanwithstick
