Calexit vrs Brexit
« on: August 02, 2017, 08:21:55 PM »
I find this amusing so I am posting it.  California is discussing exiting from the USA, it has something like a 50% approval rating in the state.  What is funny is that the other 49 states seem to be agreeing with about 60% support for the exit.

The truth is that it is not going to happen IMHO.  If California leaves the USA that means one political party will lose 19% of the vote they need for the US President.

What makes this noteworthy is that CAL is around the 6th largest economy in the world.  However, not sure what it would rank if it lost its US Government contracts.

Here is a recent event:

Calexit Leader to Tucker Carlson: We're Exporting Middle Class To Make Room For Next "Wave" Of Immigrants
Posted By Ian Schwartz
On Date August 1, 2017

Calexit leader Shankar Singam appeared on Tuesday's broadcast of Tucker Carlson Tonight to promote the secession of California from the union. Singam said California doesn't have much in common with the rest of the country. He declared, "This is California. We're not the United States."

The Calexit proponent also said it is a "good thing" that the middle class is fleeing the state because it will make room for the "new wave" of immigrants. Singam told Carlson that "the United States" should be thanking "us" for "exporting" the state's middle class to the rest of the country.

"If everyone in the middle class is leaving, that's actually a good thing. We need these spots opened up for the new wave of immigrants to come up. It's what we do," Singam told Carlson.

Just some interesting pics.  But this does bring up that it appears only the population centers want to exit, a lot of the state does not want to exit.  If the Calexit actually starts to happen it will likely fracture the state where only a portion leaves.

Easy one. Import immigrants who will vote to 99% for the politicians that invited / welcomed them, get them voting illegally if necessary. Pioneered by Tony Blair. Same philosophy in New Jersey and New York, many major and now nor so major towns in the UK and Europe.
I just worry about how who will pay for the wall.
