How do you recommend BE handle posts/topics you don't like?

My view is STFU and move on.   Unless that post specifies you (or your family),  go elsewhere and ignore it.

Oops, this is a hurtful post.  Expect me to be desiplined shortly.

Or . . perhaps 'disciplined'.

It is a public forum after all, and thankfully we all have different interests, sense of humour, thresholds of pain etc etc.

I expect most posts are interesting to only a handful of readers each time. That's normal I would think.

There are several ongoing threads on the Forum that I just can't be bothered reading, so I mark them as read and move on. Isn't that what everyone does ? No big deal.

The "my dick is bigger than your dick" posts are mildly entertaining though.

The reason I started this post was BE seems to be dying.  Which is sad as there is a lot of good local information to be had.  Even my best buddy helped me find casings, I appreciate him doing that.

I also believe banter can be fun.  Yes, I can be rightfully accused of trolling Nookie, such as with the ladder photo op (which I still hope he schedules so we can have an impromptu gathering).  This would also help Ruangsangthai that is specifically targeting support to us expats (and I appreciate that).

So I hope we can liven up this board, and if there are disagreements, TFB, ignore, make fun of, and get over it.

If that is ridicule I am missing the context.  Please explain.

And I am serious here.  I do not understand the "sneers" comment.

Also what is interesting is that almost 200 views and only 3 votes.  How can BE make an informed Judgement if no one replies?  They will have to go with their non Native English Language assessment.  That is not a hit to BE, it is just the way it is.  I want BE to succeed, they have done a lot of good for me.

So tell it like it is.  So far BE has let this boring, annoying, combative, etc. thread run, there is hope.

Great, and I hope to see BE activity.  However the a few days ago for a 24 hour period there were less than 10 posts and no new topics.  From my viewpoint I would like to see BE get about 100 postings per 24 hour period.  I would bet that more posts will cause more replies and should be encouraged, boring or otherwise.

Many of the more entertaining posts come from people that just come for the winter months, it would be interesting to get statistics for number of posts on a monthly basis... anyone?
At the moment... it's raining and will continue to do so for a day or two... so it's back to pork pie making and wiring up the extension... now that IS boring

I gues the problem is not so much boring posts as bored members.

Anyone who could find time to read 100 posts on a single forum in a single day clearly needs to find something to do with themselves.

Of course more members will result in more posts but I don't see the point in posting for the sake of posting. That would be boring.
