Translating documents Thai to English and having them certified for Immigration

Where can you get Thai documents translated to English and certified which will be accepted by Immigration (Australia) for a visa application. Have searched the forum but old posts.... Prefer Nang Rong or Burriram in first instance but can make the trip to Korat if that's an option. Otherwise of to Sin City to get it done...

Go to CAT telecom, over the road from the railway station, ask at the desk. There is a chap who works there, he is a certified notary. I have used him (as have my friends) many times before. All docs/translations have been ok for the Embassy (UK/US/AUS).

Normally turns them round in a day or two. Not expensive.

When I get home I will get his phone number and name etc from the Mrs.

We can do that. We have done many for expats here in Buriram and beyond, some of whom are also members on this forum.

If you cannot get into Buriram then we can do this by scan copy and then send the translations to your home address by EMS.

He translated my US Passport and was acceptable to issue my daughter's birth certificate.  As far as what you want I would ask him.

Is he really a notary like what I would need to certify my income for immigration when I do my extension?  Or do I still need to go to BKK to the US embassy for that?

He is not a notary. There is a difference between certifying a translation of an orginal document and notarising a document to prove it is a true document.

Oh well. Wishful thinking on my part. I?ll have to make the trip to BKK. Unless, the embassy does an outreach closer to here sometime this year!
