Buriram immigration office?

I am getting word the office will be happy to take white envelopes.  One guy was asked for 15000 baht another for 10000 baht.

If that is indeed correct, I with withdraw my 200 Baht offer - they can buy the aircon from the corruption fund.

On the positive side it might save a few people a trip to Pattaya.

If true then this should be reported.

The reason we are confronted with more and more petty rule changes and extra documentation is because people constantly try to get round the regulations.

For example, at one time is was ok to declare your income, people were found to be lying so we had to get an Embassy letter; next people were found to be forging this letter and now we additionally have to show income and outgoings in a local bank book.

However the phrase "I am getting word" means it is probably just a bar stool rumour started by the usual ex SAS type.

I hope just a silly rumour. A voluntary contribution to the tea fund (air con fund) is one thing but requests for additional payment (bribe) another. A real shame if such a new office were to begin this way.

I'm astonished that the office is not airconditioned. Can't imagine the Immi staff tolerating that situation for too long.

Am with Co Co on the withdrawal issue. 

Hmmm, would prefer for my visa expiration date to be changed to first week or two of November rather than the current date of early September.  Wonder if a plain white envelope would fix that.

I'd used a "pack" obtained from Kap Choeng on my last 90 day in August but I found that most of the forms are different, so beware, I had to transfer all the information to their forms !

They require two copies of everything, they will do the copying for you for a small fee.


Thoughts anyone?

That concerns me.  I would like to get a copy of the required forms so I can post them on BE. 


How do the forms differ from what I posted on the Dummies thread?   Being proved wrong does not bother me, I just want to get to the correct solution.

Honestly, I am not completely sure. After I handed my marriage extension application and passport to the very polite guy who met me at the door, I was asked to fill in the "personal information form" you may have heard about.

I filled in my name at the top but didn't fill in any information such as my address, parents names, passport number etc., which was already contained in the application - from memory I think I'd written my address eight or nine times on the various documents - I signed at the bottom and smiled sweetly as I handed it in and sat down to read the paper.

When these omissions were pointed out I flatly refused to comply and said they should look in the application, my wife said I should stop making trouble but realizing I was not going to budge, took the form and filled it out herself.

She stayed at the desk and copied laboriously every document in the application to the new forms while I read the paper.

I was called to the desk to have a photo taken and given back my passport with an under consideration date and 90 day date.

It's difficult to get much sense from her today, much wailing and gnashing of teeth over the death of the King; but as far as I can tell the only difference between the new and old forms is the old have Kap Choeng on them while the new have Buriram.

The only way to get your packs correct is to visit and pick up some sets yourself. I think you are about the same distance from the place as me.

On the 13th I submitted my online 90 day report about 2 hours prior to the news that the King had passed away.
As of 30 mins ago it is still showing as pending.
The good news is that the system ( as far as submitting the report) seemed to be working fine.
I'm thinking it quite likely that very little was done on the day following the government announcement and am guessing the office was probably closed on Friday. Then the weekend.
I remain hopeful that it will be processed this week and if not it's no problem to go and do in person. I'm unclear if on line reports are handled at a central location using a central data base or re- routed to local offices from the main site.
If routed to local offices and as reported the Buriram Office is busy and only has one computer then possibly on line submissions aren't getting much attention.

I got these at Buriram Immigration last week.
I was after a complete pack, but this was all that was available on the day I went.
