Ruangsangthai Builder Merchants & USA BOB
« on: June 19, 2016, 04:18:00 PM »
I know this has had a lot of positive coverage in lots of posts but I wish to thank Pichai and his staff for all their help. In particular USA BOB and his sidekick Mr Bob.

Over the last few months we have renovated our house and used their store for just about everything. We did a lot of price searching / comparison in other big stores but found Pichai cheaper if not matching the prices. However the BIG PLUS for us was having USA BOB at hand to advise us on all sorts of things, he was always willing to listen and help.

Thank you very much for all your assistance, Mr. Pichai you should be proud of your staff.

Bob is from California, the land of fruits and nuts.  He fits right in.

Kidding.  I try to talk to Bob every trip there.  Just talked to him on Friday.

Thank you for the kind words for Mr. Bob from California and Mr. Thai Bob. Perhaps the reason they do well in finding products for house builders and home owners in Buriram Province is they rely on the  women of Ruangsangthai to source products and push on time repairs.  Mr. Bob is seldom in Ruangsangthai on Sundays.

I am back from Bangkok. My Thursday visit to the US Embassy was successful. My US Visa is stamped into my Thai Passport. I look forward to visiting many historical sites in the United States including the Statue of Liberty, Lincoln Memorial, Times Square and Hersey Pennsylvania. These historical visits will be after my business trip to the headquarters of Franklin Electric Water pumps.  In the meantime Mr. California Bob has been joined by Mr. Nop who also lived in California and Nevada to better assist foreign born visitors and residents to Buriram. Mr. Bob pulled out the Elvis Presley Painting today as seven more Try Bilt electric start self propelled lawn mowers arrived in Buriram exclusively at Ruangsangthai Hardware. Troy Bilt of Cleveland, OH have recognized my shop as the #1 volume dealer in all of Isaan Thailand for genuine Troy Bilt Lawn walking self propelled lawn mowers and ride on mowers. Mr. California Bob has placed an order for every Troy Bilt spare part including cutting blades to be in stock in September 2016 in Buriram. 7 days a week an American citizen will be on duty inside Ruangsangthai to assist Buriram customers. Thank You, Mr. Pichai

I am glad to be back with my family and in Buriram. I visited Home Depot Hardware Store in New Jersey and was very impressed. I just could not find the repair department in that large Home Improvement Center. Today Mr. California Bob tracked down a Free warranty replacement part of a water pump for a British customer. Turns out the part had been sent via EMS to my downtown Buriram water pump shop. Track & Trace and the part is now installed in Mr. Andy's Mitsubishi Super Pump at absolutely no charge to him. He had the warranty card and he bought the water pump from Ruangsangthai for a home he is building in Prakhon Chai.  The other photo I am posting is a popular busy Thai Home Building contractor who is currently building two different homes for expats in Buriram Province. He works with the women of the "foreign sales" department to keep his customers in the loop on building materials so they are paid for and delivered in a timely basis. Thank you Mr. Pichai

Miss Gift is a recent college graduate who understands and speaks English better than all but one of the banking staff of Bangkok Bank Robinson Lifestyle Shopping center branch.  Today she test drove a made in the USA Troy Bilt ride on lawn mower that Mr. Bob sold to an American customer of Ruangsangthai. Miss Gift works in the "Foreigner Sales' department of Ruangsangthai Hardware in Buriram. She is part of the team to assist expat customers at my family owned builders merchant store. Thank you, Mr. Pichai

Mr. California Bob has returned today from his trip to the Makita Tools assembly plant in Thailand. Makita manufactures Makita Tools and Maktec Tools in only 10 plants in the world, including Japan, China, Thailand, Hungary, Germany and Brazil. A truck load of new Makita Tools and accessories will be arriving at Ruangsangthai to be on sale at the April 2017 Buriram Home Garden Tool Expo Sale. You can see the only expat in the group photo taken on March 17 in front of the Thailand Makita Tools Assembly plant.

Four of the hardware store sales women who understand and speak English surprised Mr. Bob this week with a birthday pizza. Not quite a pizza from Muang Pizza or Roma Pizza, but a treat for the 63 year old California expat working at my family's Buriram Builders Merchant Store. Mr. Bob has committed to three more years of assisting customers with lawn mowers, water pumps, home building materials and name brand tools at my home improvement store. The four women help him communicate with the 200 Thai staff in the store. Of course you may always stop by my desk to help you and your family with any home building or hardware needs including repairs when you visit Ruangsangthai. Mr. Bob is working in the hardware store every day except Sunday. Miss Gift and Miss Jaew have been serving expats for over one year and will gladly assist Thai and expat customers any day of the week including Sunday.  I now have a rare Troy Bilt Self Propelled petrol lawn mower taken in trade by an expat who is now enjoying riding on his 17.5hp Briggs & Stratton powered Troy Bilt Pony lawn mower. See Mr. Bob for a test of the trade in Troy Bilt electric start petrol lawn mower in Buriram.

Happy Birthday Bob.
Currently fitting VG Primo Guttering around house and outbuildings. Supplied by Ruangsangthai. First stretch was well tested yesterday as what seems to be the daily storm hit. No leaks, no sagging, no surprises. Seems to be a good quality product, easy to fit and actually not that much more expensive than the steel options out there.
Once again I recieved excellent  service and assistance from Bob, Miss Gift and the rest of the girls at the foreign counter. Thank you.
