US Marines avert bloodbath in northern France

Three people have been hurt after a heavily armed man opened fire on a train in northern France, before being overpowered by two American passengers.

The incident happened on the high-speed Thalys service near Arras, and the attacker was arrested at Arras station.

The interior minister praised the Americans, one of whom was seriously injured, as was another passenger.

The man arrested was a 26-year-old Moroccan. Anti-terrorist officers have taken over the case.

The weapons were said to include a Kalashnikov, a knife, an automatic pistol and cartridges ...

Luckily. it did not occur in the UK.

If it had, they would now be locked up and charged with a racially motivated attack on the Moroccan and further charged for violating his human rights.

Most readers of the OP would understand that while it was congratulatory towards those who heroically put their lives at risk; it was simultaneously sniping at the PC brigade in the UK.

Seems a lot of misinformation on the incident, the heroes were not Marines but a joint team of US Air Force and US Army supported by a US Student. 

Two of them are U.S. servicemembers. Spencer Stone is in the Air Force and Alek Skarlatos serves in the Oregon National Guard.  (Oregon National Guard means US Army)

Stone, Skarlatos and their friend Anthony Sadler were traveling together when they heard shattering glass and saw people running, Skarlatos' brother Peter said. Sadler, a college student on his first trip to Europe, said they acted right away.

"My friend Alek Skarlatos yells, 'Get him!,' so my friend Spencer Stone immediately gets up to charge the guy, followed by Alek, then myself," Sadler said.

"The three of us beat up the guy," Sadler said. "In the process, Spencer gets slashed multiple times by the box cutter, and Alek takes the AK away."

So far there is no truth to the rumor that the 3 will be charged with racial profiling.
