I had a really interesting conversation with my girlfriend yesterday about this Lamborghini accident.

If you read the Bangkok Post story in my original post, it mentions a rare amulet that the driver was wearing. The amulet was also mentioned in the Thai TV News coverage.

In our conversation I mentioned that the guy was very lucky to survive such a big prang. She said "No problem for him ... he was wearing Number 1 Buddha amulet ... very expensive, very good magic for travel long way ..."

She is 100% convinced that without the expensive amulet, the driver would have died.

She tried to explain that there are several levels of amulet. When I asked "Would he have died if he had been wearing a less expensive amulet ?" the conversation got a bit bogged down. Her answer was "Yes ... and no"

I'm sure many of us have had plenty of similiar conversation endings 555

I'm not a religious person at all, but I do respect everyone's right to believe in whatever floats their boat.

Anyway ... in my girlfriend's eyes, clearly it was Buddha that saved this guy. It was another really interesting little insight inside the mind of my girlfriend, and perhaps Thai's in general.

Something certainly saved him ... maybe it was Buddha ? You might want to ask your own lady her thoughts on this ?

The amulet thing really does intrigue me.

I reckon he was just fortunate to have gone off into a rice paddy and killed a tree, rather than head on with some unlucky motorist minding his own business travelling the other way.
