Buriram Pie Man Shop and Cafe
« on: March 13, 2014, 10:30:47 AM »
Our new little place will be open to customers as of Tuesday 18th March. We will not be fully operational at this time, and stock levels will not be complete, but we will be there to serve.

Traveling from Buriram, head out past Big C. Continue along and go straight on at the traffic lights and passed Thai Watsadu. You will then go around a long right hand bend. As you go passed the school on the right and the petrol station on the left prepare to move into the right hand lane. You will see that the raised central reservation will end and the white lines on the road will start. You will see a car repair place on the right followed by a garden centre and a small cluster of bungalows. Turn right straight after that.

Go into the village and head along for about 400m. You will see us on the right.

We will be starting with a small menu, that will be expanded once we are settled. The beer will be cheap and cold.

Pop along when you have some free time.

Steve, as I shall be practicing my Thai-style driving, I will have been the right hand lane since the traffic lights - will this be a problem for me ?   :)

Coco...so long as you are only doing the customary 55kph in the outside lane you should be OK.

Having a bit of difficulty with the translation here; is that passed the Thai Watsadu or past?  The "raised central reservation" - would that be like a "median"?  What about the school?  Again, passed or past?  And then, also having difficulty translating "Turn right straight after that."  Am I to go straight before turning right, afterward or both?  Sorry for my confusion; it may all be because I would be coming from the other direction; uuummmm, south is it?  But am sure I shant miss it!

Passed and Past can often be lost in translation but, at the end of the day, can mean the same.

I am talking about traveling and going further.

If you are coming from the opposite direction then even easier.

Traveling  on the Nang Rong- Buriram road continue until you see the 10km marker. At that point start to slow down and look for a traffic sign warning about a school.Pass that and within 10metres you will see another school sign with a flashing yellow light. Turn left just before that sign. (There will be a "Starfoods Burirampieman" sign there soon.)

Travel into the village about 400m. You will see us on the right.

a gps fix would make things easier, for me at least...

I have tried to get GPS but 4 different websites have given me different coordinates. Same with Google map. There are no other "places" mentioned on Google so difficult to pinpoint.

The directions are accurate. I already have a couple of blokes who have found us using those directions.

If you really do have difficulty then I am happy to come and meet you somewhere else an you can follow me back.

In the mean time I will continue to try to get the map and gps.

Thanks
