Kap Choeng Immigration Update.
« on: May 14, 2012, 10:36:05 AM »
Just had a nice visit with Capt. Pensinee Intarapirom of Kap Choeng Immigration. She informed me that KCI is taking only 90 day reports for the moment and plan to go full service June 1. They hope to have TOT this week, I wished her luck on that one. As of now no phone number. They do have an email address. kapchoengimmigration@gmail.com At the moment there are four people on site. Her boss is Khun Chatchai Samniang. There is still work to be done but it is coming along nicely. 90 day reports can still be done at the Chong Chom border crossing even after KCI goes full service. Also I was informed that KCI was for Surin and Buriram Provinces.

Know what you mean. I live in KC but have to return to Korat June 18 for my marriage extention. But after that its all KCI 600 meter for me. party3
I just took a second look at your post. Your 90 day report date is May 20th and your extention to stay based on retirment is due June 19th.. For a 90 day report you can due it 15 days before to 7 days after which means you could report as late as May 27th. An extention to stay can be renewed up to thirty (30) days in advanced, so if you go to korat Immigration on th May 25 you can due both at the same time. Remember your new extention takes effect at the end of your present extention and do not lose any days.

Mrs. GL and myself just did our interview for my extention to stay based on marriage. An immigration officer and his wife from from the newly reopened KCI came to see us at M&D Coffee we then took them to our  home. I was unable to get his name but he has been transfer ed from Korat to KCI. He did tell the wife that she should call Korat May 25 as my extention may be ready early. Still no phone number for KCI, maybe next week. BTW two nice gentlemen from the Buriram area both from Holland stoped by M&D to say hello on their way back from the Chong Chom Border crossing. Sorry I did not get their names but it was nice to visit with them.

Is this place closer/easier to get to than the chok chai office--for people in Buriram? I need to do my 90-day reporting this week. Also, I've heard different things about doing the 90-day reporting by mail. Anyone have the current address we should sent the paperwork?

Thanks,

Ryan

At this moment you can still use Chok Chai BUT when  Kap Choeng goes full service and your residence is either Buriram or Surin you will have no choice but to use the Kap Choeng Immigration. I live in Kap Choeng and just returned from KCI which is just 600 meters form our coffee shop M&D. As of this morning they do not do reports by mail only in person and they still do not have a phone number you can also do your 90 day report at the Choeng Chom Border Crossing.

Thanks, Got Lost.
Since I'll have to be using this branch soon, I may as well just go out and start using it now. From Buriram, do you have a map/directions (and a phone number) to your coffee shop? Maybe I can swing by for a cup of coffee and some directions to the immigration office!

Thanks,

Ryan

Anyone know if 1 June 2012 is still a goer for KCI to be up for FULL SERVICE?

If it is, I am assuming that from that day, Buriramiets MUST go to KCI.

Just talked to the new KCI. June 5 they will officially go full service. They are offering all services (marriage, retirement, re-entry, tourist extension, etc) at this moment at Kap Choeng Immigrating. They still do not have a phone but that should be taken care of this week. As for the 90 day report NO MAIL only walk in. On June 5 all Buriram and Surin Expats will use the Kap Choeng Immigration Office. KCI will be closed June 4 (holiday).

It depends on where you live in Buriram,,,Chok Chai Office is 40km closer me than KCI!
