Can I prevent snakes from coming into our garden?

Hello Buriram people

I'm not in Buriram at the moment however I've been informed that a small cobra or two has been found recently in our garden.
One had made its home under the water pump and one was just on its way somewhere....

I never saw one before in our garden before however now we have a wall around the premises Im guessing that once they come in via the gate at the front of the house its not so easy for them to leave....

Does anyone have an suggestions as to how they can be prevented or deterred from coming in??

Cheers

Jamie

Hi

First of all is it a cobra? In my experience Thais think every snake is a cobra.

I have found that most so called cobras are in fact common rat snakes or checkered keelbacks which are wannabe cobras.

Both of which are harmless in the case of the rat snake as the name inplies it is a welcome visitor if you have a rodent problem.

I know I have not answered your question on how to get rid of them but check out what make it is first! There is lots of info on tinternet and providing you don't have young children most snakes are  more afraid of you than visa versa

PS See pick of Keelback often confused with Cobra

Get some LIME from the local builders merchant and spread it around the entrance to your property

Local way is to plant lemon grass around your perimeter.
