Temple in the garden...
« on: June 23, 2011, 09:05:57 PM »
Hi

We have just bought and had made a temple for the garden (2 temples and 2 tables) for 5000 baht which includes everything even the old people and guardians etc etc.

Now we have to make the place in the garden for the temple....We were advised by the people that made the temple that this should be higher than where we enter our house...(i hope that makes sense)

Therefore as our house is raised say 3 feet off the ground we have to make a brick & cement block filled with soil slightly higher than that. The dimensions of this will be approximately L=6ft W=6fd H=3.5ft

A local builder has been round and said for his labour it would cost 5000 baht....plus then material costs.

I dont want to sound stingy but would anyone know if this is a fair price?

Cheers

Jamie

A small Buddha house including the job should cost 3000-5000 Baht all included.
However it is hard to say because nobody see the thing itself, have many kinds of these things..

Standard fee for a chang should be around 250 baht a day, so for that money he could work around 20 days, better ask someone else. It's better to make the price yourself, ask a chang or he can do this job for you for lets say 750 baht and you take care of the materials. Good luck.

Admin, they are the large versions so I think I got a good price then.
They also made it all to my spec!

Den Buut, that was the kind of daily rate I had in mind so I was surprised to hear this builder had quoted 5000 baht to my wife, one reason he gave is that due to no soil being sold at present he would have to pay someone to dig the soil out of out garden!? And we could replace it when soil is available again.

I think this may be a case of let's make sone easy money from the big money farang wife lol
