Snooker world cup returns to Thailand
The Nation: 19 Mar 2011

Return of King's trophy cues up World Cup

Fifteen years after being presented to the winners of the inaugural World Snooker Cup in Bangkok, the gold King of Kings' Cup returned yesterday to Thailand for the PTTEGAT Snooker World Cup 2011, to be held from July 11-17 at CentralWorld.

Teams from 19 countries will participate in the event, competing for the magnificent gold trophy worth Bt1.2 million, plus more than Bt21 million in prize money. The winning team will have the honour of seeing their name engraved on the Cup, joining Stephen Hendry's Scotland in 1996.

The event is being held to commemorate His Majesty's 84th birthday anniversary.

"I'm delighted that Thailand has again received the rights to host the Snooker World Cup," said tournament committee chairman Suwat Liptapanlop at yesterday's ceremony to welcome the Cup's return from World Snooker Limited's headquarters in England after 15 years. "Our plan is for this competition to continue to be held in Thailand every two years. We will invite the world's top snooker players to compete in the tournament. It is an event not to be missed by snooker fans everywhere."

I am happily marry and don't need to look elsewhere for a nice rack like some but I do get my cue out away from home on the odd occasion but like to keep my balls clean for home games .Some people think the grass is greener on the other side but I find if you play away from home to much you will end up with the blue's
