Varies from office to office. Get to the office early morning and ask. If they say no you have time to get to the police station.

Is there no an office in Lahansai? If yellow book is accepted you could do it there.

In Nang Rong I can understand that........................... with all the inter-breeding it must be difficult to get a valid medical certificate!!  ;D

Was a residency certificate required or did the accept your yellow book (if you have one)?

Your initial application for a Thai licence still requires one

Yes a residency certificate was required. I got it from Buriram Immigration 500 baht.
I don't have a yellow book. When I first came to live in Buriram, I tried to get  yellow book and my amphur didn't know they existed. 5 Years later they had yellow house books  but by that time I had decided I didn't need / want one.

We are at the transportation office in Nang Rong, if you have a Yellow House Book you do not need a "residency certificate ", also the international drivers license is what they wanted. They did not even want to look at my Hawaii drivers license.

Passed all the reaction and color tests, now I am just waiting to take a picture and get my first Thai driver license.
