This topic is almost a year old now....My house has just been finished in Buriram and wanting know if anything has changed for getting the Yellow house book...has anyone got one lately...

Thanks...

I heard that the transport office no longer accepts a 'Yellow Book' in substitution for a 500b Imm Residence Cert.

If so, i can see hardly any reason for go through all the rigmarole.

I can tell you where to get it, but I am not sure what documents are required.

As you travel west on Jira road, once you pass the light to go to the Night Market about 50 meters on the right is where you can pay your power bill, the other building there is where Thai's get their ID, the Yellow book can be obtained there.

Morning All,  reference requirements posted July 2013.  Given a year + has passed, are they still the same.

It seems that all requirements remain the same however I was told that translations of Birth Certificate and Passport must be certified at the Embassy in Bangkok and that KCI certification isn't acceptable. So to obtain a Yellow Book looks like I need to go to Bangkok first and then to KCI for a Certificate of Residence as the one issued by Buriram Police is also unacceptable. This was at Lam Plait Mat Land Registry.

Bit of a pain however I am pleased that there was no argument about providing me with a yellow Tabien Ban

Immigration has never certified a passport or birth certificate. US Embassy charges 50 dollars per certification. Thats 3200 baht. Now ask your self how often will you need that yellow house book?

I would tend to agree however I'm being told that to register a truck in my name I need a Tabien Ban. My understanding was that previously a certificate of residence was sufficient however there is now some new legislation being applied in the Buriram area.
I'm hoping that is incorrect and will check with the dealerships when I decide what to buy.

Thats has to be bogus but go to your LTD an verify their requirements. LTD's are known to change.

BTW I know of at least 3 LTD's in Buriram Provence and you can use any if you buy a vehicle in Buriram.

I hope it is bogus as it my only reason for making the enquiries about a yellow book. I can live with obtaining a new certificate of residence every so often and as required. LTD were happy with Police Certificate for driving licence so I would have thought they would accept for vehicle registration as well. Will let you know how I get on.
