Immigration 90 Day
« on: August 11, 2020, 06:29:24 PM »
My 90 day was due 9th (Sunday), my wife went on my behalf yesterday (10th) to the main office in Buriram Provincial Hall.

Waiting is now in the corridor and documents are passed inside via a window.

On completion, my passport was brought out with a demand for 100 baht.

Not sure if the 7 days grace has been discontinued or they just had her over; next time she will ask for a receipt.

Just a heads up.

It's always been 7 days grace since i've been here.

If they ask for money just ask for a receipt.

If it's genuine they will give you one, otherwise they will back down.

Thx.

Never been in the 7 days grace period before, always before or on the day.

Will report back on Thursday.

My guess would be ......Did your Wife take a Letter from you confirming she has your permission to do your 90 day report on your behalf ? .
I know you sent your wife BUT I have a friend that was in Hospital and his wife did his 90 day report for him and was told " OK this time but next time we need a letter of consent" .
The 100 baht could have been tea money to allow you/her to do this without written permission ???

Any excuse for a tip  biggrin1

It's not the first time she has done it for me, twice before at the Hall and once at the football stadium, never a mention of a letter, including today.

Tea money I think.

Oke 90 days report done at the Main Immigration. 2 days late (original due date was 11th August) done very quickly (was quiet) and didn't have to pay any money.

Thanks for the update Mike, I guess they thought my wife looked gullible.

Either that or the letter Smithy mentioned.
