Thailand: Flooding on Buriram-Nakorn Ratchasima road subsides
Source: Royal Thai Goverment
Date: 26 Sep 2008

Flooding along the Buriram-Nakorn Ratchasima connection road has begun to subside, with vehicles returning to use, after flood water cut off travel for 5 consecutive days.

Reports yesterday evening indicated that flooding along a main road connecting Buriram province and Nakorn Ratchasima province has begun to alleviate, especially at a crucial bridge crossing in Lum Plai Mat (ลำปลายมาศ) district. The bridge was previously submerged in over a meter of water, completely disallowing any vehicles to pass. The entire roadway had been closed off for 5 consecutive days until yesterday when some amount of traffic was able to return.

Highway authorities however, have posted signs warning commuters to beware of the bridge which may have receive damage from the flood waters. Authorities have been dispatched to inspect the stability of the bridge. Travelers are urged to proceed with caution nonetheless.

Hi Lourens

The Boss Lady had to return to Thailand yesterday as her mum is in intensive care. She will get to Mo Chit bus station about 9.00pm Thai time with the intention of catching the bus to Satuk.

Is the flooding on the BKK - Satuk bus route? arrowright I have been on it many times and know it goes via Korat so is she likely to have problems.  I follow in 2 weeks time so hope all over by then!

Thanks

I have not been on that road for a while but I understand that it is usable now. The Boss Lady should not have any problems. And by the time you get back, it should all be over providing there is no more flooding in the area. Sorry I can not be of more help here.  surrender1
