Accomodation in Buriram / Re: Accommodation for Family of four people
« Last post by Gerry on February 01, 2025, 04:14:05 PM »
Hello there! Searching for accommodation for Family of 2-3 adults and 2 kids during visit of Buriram on 24.5 - 06.6.2025. Car rent already in process thanks to Buriram Expats. Did check Booking.com and Agoda, on that site my wife did find some house for rent-" baan him" nickname (Like Ban Him) and I start to check property - do not have address to check - funny. Any suggestion are Welcome! Thank you people!

Do you want to be near town? Further out?

It eould becworth looking at resorts. Most have good facilities, rooms get cleaned, bedding gets changed. Many have special rates for longer term stays.

There's one at Ray Hotel. Sorry but can't remember the name. Something like Jintana. If you stay there you get free use of the hotel swimming pool.

Is there a reputable photo shop in Buriram that can take a decent passport photo for an application for an Australian passport. The PP office has become very strict about the quality of photos due to facial recognition and other high tech features on the new passport. The problem with most photo shops are they take the photo from too far away and then zoom in during processing which reduces the quality. I have told them many times in the past what is needed and they just nod and say they know and do it their way, I'm in Surin by the way.

The Fuji shop not far from Anuban Buriram is good.

It's on Phitak Alley. Just up from the junction with Sunthon Thep Road.

General Discussion / Re: Parking @ Chong Chom Border Crossing

Just to let people know you can park at the Chong Chom border, but not with the immigration police as before.
You have to park on the opposite side of the road, where there's a parking compound; this looks to be a privately run, however I could be wrong.
The cost of parking for a farang is 90 baht a day / night.
Personally I'm not going to do this, because when there I had a gut feeling that on my return my truck might not be there.

Does anyone know if you can still park your car with the border police at Chong Chom when taking a two / three day trip to Siem Reap?
I know you used to be able to do this (was 100 baht a day), but I just want to confirm I can before I head out there.

I've not been there for a few years.

I doubt they'd stop the parking. It's a money spinner.
