Family Park, Lamplaimat
« on: July 17, 2016, 12:09:16 PM »
This has doubtless been announced on local radio or something, but we just discovered Family Park, which appears to be a large water park, much larger than the one at Kuh Mueang.

We didn't actually go in today but reception was friendly and the place looks fairly spectacular. Owner is the Chinese guy that owns the small pool in Lamplaimat. Entrance ฿50 for adults, restaurants and shops.
A bit difficult to see from the road, on the right a few Km out of Lamplaimat on the 2223

Some pictures to get an impression.

General info: entrance is 50 Baht for children and 80 Baht for adults (both Thai and Foreigners).

Staff is very friendly. We could take a look first before we had to decide to buy a ticket.

Food was very good and in my opinion cheap (but I'm not very cost conscious).

Swimming suits including goggles etc could be rented at the site.

Looks like a lot better than the Buriram Play Park.

The lady at Play Park told me not to come again after I managed to perch my car on top of a skilfully hidden rock and was unable to move. I asked for a (iron) bar, which she thought was a request for a beer and then started shouting at the stupid Farang, me, in the car to 'go back. go back'. Getting tired of being shouted at I got out of the car and said (not shouted) 'I can't go back, the car is stuck on a rock'. She then said she 'no unnerstan' and abandoned me. When I did eventually extract myself, no thanks to her, she moved the rock to a less dangerous place. On a previous visit I had driven into a skilfully hidden piece of reinforcing rod. All my fault, I know, it always is in Thailand. As we were leaving I was told  not to come back. I dint do nuthink.
My wife got told off for walking in flip flops on a very hot surface. I objected to having to leave an ID behind in order to hire, for ฿10.-, a bathing cap, the first time we visited, no bathing caps on sale. I worked as supervisor at a major swimming facility for a few years and I only once ever talked to anyone in the way she carried on, even the guy I caught setting fire to a motorbike on surveillance TV didn't get talked to like that.
Pity really, as the brat liked going there but Lamplaimat is nearer for me anyway.
Hey, ho just a part the of every day learning curve in Thailand.

Or was the rock plain to see by everyone else

Not quite, no. However I did see a small car one time perched on top of a rock bigger than that with all four wheels off the ground. I was puzzled.

Hi Dave
Just to get it right before I decide which one to go to, that shody treatment was at Buriram Play Park and not Lamplaimat Family Park?
Many thanks.
