Non-immigrant O multi enter visa question
« on: January 20, 2016, 11:20:03 PM »
Hi all,

I have a Non-immigrant O multi enter visa and my 90 days are up soon and was wondering if anyone can give me some advice on doing a in/out at chong chom.

Is it still OK to do this on this type of visa?

Is the Cambodia visa still ฿1000 with a 300 return the same day fee.

How long does it normally take to do this?

Any other advice people can offer to make the process easier.

Thanks in advance.

It always been OK to do this at Chong Chom. If your driving you can park just to the left of the immigration departure shack, cost is about 50 baht for parking. Try to avoid the so called helpers , you do not need them. No cost for exiting or entering Thailand. The Cambodian side is officially 30 USD but they will hit you for 1500 baht for the Cambodian visa and another 300 baht for the u-turn. Total of 1800 baht. Make sure you have a couple of passport photos with you for the Cambodian side. Should not take much more than 20 minutes but when your on the Khmer side there is a casino duty free shop and coffee shop plus outside a few markets shops. If your like to trap there are a few Vietnamese cat houeses just ask the guides at the crossing.. If you buy cigs do it inside the casino and only bring back 1 carton or 200. Any alcohol is only 1 liter total and I mean ANY. You can bring back 4 cans of beer any they won't say anything.Thai customs is death on the cig bet.

Thanks for the quick reply and the information, I normally leave the country by air due to work or travel and this is the first time I have had to do a in/out.

I wasn't sure if things had change with all the latest tourist visa clampdown, I did think they had but wanted to make sure so thanks for that.

My recent (Dec 14, 2015) experience at Chong Chom for the same purpose was a carbon copy of gotlost's comments.  No problem at all.  Thinking I will take in the market place a couple km inside the border, just to make sure I haven't missed anything.

She needs a passport at this crossing or she will not allowed to exit Thailand. No day passes. Cambodia charges a Thai national 100 baht.

In our case, my wife went with me; didn't have her passport and paid 50 baht.  That's close.

Looks like they have lightened up on this but this can change at any time. I would suggest that do to the attitude of the government it would be advise that all Thai partners get a Thai passport. It only takes them about 20 minutes at the passport office and 1000 baht plus 40 baht for EMS delivery. About 7 days to process.

Just renewed the Mrs's passport in Korat; arrived about noonish; took the rest of the day.  They are doing 300 per day.  Seems more and more Thai's are traveling.  So, go early.

Just thought I would update, did the trip the other day, like stated above ฿1500 for the Cambodian visa, ฿300 for the return same day plus ฿1400 for a nice bottle of scotch.

Took about 20 minutes including buying the scotch from the casino. I was the only person at the Windows going in out on both sides.

Thanks for the information it was spot on.
