Thaivisa is a great forum for finding out Visa issue's ,plus some of the smaller sub forums like Fishing, gardening ,computers etc can be very informative .But on a whole when it comes to anything Thai related there are too many sad loser's on Thaivisa  ( obviously people so stupid they have been burnt in the passed and are still filled with hatred )  that can't stop complaining about how bad Thais are at doing anything and how smart and clever western people are in comparison.
One of the smarter posters on the thread posted above did say " My best advice is to go to all your local material supply shops and ask the owners if they know a local builder who they would want to build their house." ( which I have already suggested to White   cool1 ) and visit a site called.......  http://www.coolthaihouse.com/.
