In fairness, and after some pleading, they agreed to do his 90 day report so the pair could remain on the same reporting date.

It is indeed strange.
Maybe they (IO) are trying to weed out those who use Visa Agents (Pattaya???) by crisply packing them off to a local issuing office who then catch them 'red handed'

I cannot see the sense in it otherwise??

How would they know?

As far as I am aware an immigration stamp is an immigration stamp and one acquired in Pattaya does not say "Hooky visa bought in Pattaya" on it.

I also know at least 5 people who also have condos or houses in Pattaya area but spend most of their time in Isaan. They have typically been doing extensions in Jomtien and the 90 day reporting up here.

A national automated reporting system will sort it all out anyway.

From what I have read on TV people are being turned away from doing 90 day reports from all over Thailand where there Extension renewal and 90 day report have not done been the same Immigration office, not just extension renewed at Chonburi

http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/809400-new-90-day-report-ruling/

As stated on Thai Visa, it sounds like someone issued an edict in December.

I would just repeat that it all becomes pointless if the online reporting becomes a reality.

In the meantime those with 'external' extensions wishing to report to Kap Choeng can rest easy in the knowledge that they can do so if in possession of a Yellow book............ until they change the rules.......

Its worth a try. I know of another gentleman whose extension was issued in Bangkok being allowed to due his 90 day report at KCI because of his yellow house book showing his resident being in Surin.

A friend of mine went to do his 90 day report at KCI this week with a retirement Extension issued at Chonburi . He had his Yellow House book with him and they agreed to do his 90 day report ( they had done his previous 2 ). After they said to his wife ( in Thai ) " They will do his 90 day reports until his extension is finished but if he renews his extension at any other Immigration Office other than KCI they will refused to do his 90 day reports on that new extension if he wishes to live in KCI's catchment area . angry1
On-line reporting should be working by then..... hopefully  :)
