New and already have a question
« on: January 14, 2014, 02:32:27 AM »
Hi everyone!

I'm happy to have found this forum.
And grats to the admins for making it run fast again!!

I'm originally from Austria, living in Switzerland for the last 25 years.
I'll be looking into the german part of the forum later.
And if someone needs help with languages, I'm fluent in french too.
Thai is *very* basic, i got the sounds and a bit of reading, but that will change ;)

I'm almost 55 and slowly preparing my retirement.
As I've been coming to thailand for holidays since 1995 I have learned a bit about the country and the people and I love it.

I will stay in Buriram from end of March to begin of June.
2 weeks in a hotel and the rest... well thats were my question comes from.

I will be working remote and need a room/condo with reliable fast internet connection.
Fast meaning 5Mbps down, .5 up as a minimum, preferably double or more. Reliability is more important.
I don't need any luxury condo, but no dirt room too.
Maybe some of you can point me in the right direction, so that I don't have to start from zero.

Thanks
Bob

Gruessuch
I should worry about finding a condo or whatever when you get  here. Spending three nights in a hotel should give you plenty of time to find something you like, no way would I book something unseen over the internet.

Bob,

You might have issues getting the internet.  While your requirements are easy,  3BB requires a 1 year contract.  And finding a place with existing internet as part of the package may be difficult.

That being said, checkout the Hotel listing on this forum.  A bud of mine stayed at the Jintana Resort Buiram and liked it.

Hi,just adding on what Urleft has said,if you go to The Jintana ask for the studio rooms, the new part,VERY nice and spacious modern.About 700Baht a night, probably for a week or more can do abit better.IF you want something much better go to the new Best Western Royal buriram hotel, food top rooms, pool and much more, plus free internet(fast) for about 900Baht Farang manager and for longer stays probably do better price wise,Regards JasonB.

Thanks guys

I wouldn't book in advance anyway ;)
But good to know that I shouldn't spend much time looking for a room and go for a hotel.

3BB... I guess that's only an option for whole year rented or bought condo/room/ house.
Is that correct?
(Good to know for the future. May be staying again for some months in autumn. And sure next year ;)

Cheers
Bob
