Hello everyone,my story is_ First came to Buriram in 2004 after the tsunami, with my g/f. A year later and we got married and I bought two rye of rice field. We prepared the land for a future house, we dug a large fish pool,so we had the earth to build up the boundrys, fill in a large ditch and provide a standing for the house. Next we built a concrete post fence around the perimeter and planted coconut and fruit trees. The next job was to erect a water storage tank next to the pool and place a ring main around the fence so we could water the trees etc through the dry season.
Now we have had a house built and every thing is going well, the pool is well stocked with fish which are growing nicely,we also have a labradour bitch who we mated, and now have three puppies now six months old. Because of the pups we had to fix chicken wire to the fence to stop them terrorising the rice workers in niegboring fields. Now everyone is happy I hope. In four years we have done quite a lot,a bit at a time.I look foreward to seeing it again in Dec,and of course my beautifull wife.Good luck to you all.

Hello to all of you.
I have been living on and off in Buriram since 1995 and I have seen big changes.
I like to take a beer, but we are getting a bad reputation because some of us is
getting pissed and jump on the motorbike/car (sometimes with help). People are
talking about it and thats not a proper way to show the behaviar of farangs. In 1995
we were 5 farangs but today we are many so we have to take care of our behaviar.
Specially when the number of farangs will increase in Buriram in the future because it
is a lovely area to live in. I have a question, how shall we take care of this problem
and still have the oppertunity to get pissed?
ATB.........Kaj (Please not hammer me when I see you)

Hi, I've been in Buriram just a short while compared to some of you. First visit was in June 2007 to meet a lady from the internet,
Stayed 3 weeks then back to UK - three weeks later, having settled my affairs I came back and have been in Buriram ever since. Been retired for a few years now, reach 65 in February and looking forward to the state pension.
Play a little golf at the army course but very slowly, as my hips are giving up.
Live with my lovely wife in Tararom behind Big C.
Life is good here for me, very contented and really enjoy doing nothing apart from a daily visit to town for the newspaper and a chinwag with the some of the guys.

Hi all,
My name is Neil
Have been coming to the NongKi area for the last few years.
The Gf has a small farm and a village home, which I am renovating,in Dong Nakong(about 16k's south of NongKi)
In Aussie just now but will be back on the 5th of Feb.for a few months.
If get togethers happen around NongKi, or there abouts, I'd love to attend.
Cheer's.

Hello all
Chris here. 37
Married to a lady from Nong Ki, we both live in the UK, try and get back once a year. Grafting back in the UK so we can retire a little earlier out there. We have quite a bit of land and plan to build and farm in the future.

Hey Y'all, Name's Keith
I'm an Alabama Redneck that discovered the LOS in September 2007, was on of the best vacations I ever had, main problem is that I litterally on the otherside of the planet from Thailand. Was able to meet this sweet thing
from Ban Yang and she invited me to see
this past Xmas. Came by and was really surprised at the difference between Pattaya, BKK, Chaing Mai and the real Thailand.
I'm in my 50's watching the enconomy tank in the USA and taxes eating me up, have about decided to say F it and move to Thailand.
I have two major hobbies, women and beer, but since I met this lovely Lady
I'm just down to one,
. Plan on spending a week in Buriram in April to get a feel for life and see if maybe I should move there. It was kind of fun during December as I'm used to the USA where I am not that tall a person, but at the Dec Bazzar I was about a head taller than most (except Santa), and was stared at like I had 3 heads.
Now just have learn Thai
and remember to drive on the wrong side of the road. That's isn't too bad, but being used to America, half the time I tried to used the turn signal the wipers would come on .

Hi,
I'm 51 going on 52, looking forward to retirement in 5 years. Probably one of the few people looking forward to getting older. As the older I get the closer I am to retiring in the LOS.
I've been coming to Thailand since March 2001. Wish I'd discovered Thailand a lot earlier!! However like so many other people, I met the boss and fell in love very quickly.
We bought some land and built a house in Buriram about 4 years ago. We are probably 1km from the Thepnakorn Hotel. So at a stretch I can walk to the markets or the bamboo bar.
We try an visit Buriram every year. We have tentative bookings to fly to Thailand this December from Aus.
So sometime before I land I will try and arrange to meet some of you guys to say hi.
When we come to Thailand we tend to spend most of the time in Buriram, so it would be good to expand the circle of freinds and have a chat and a beer.
Cheers
