Having a soft-top! cool1

My first car was a 1971 Escort Mk1 Sport. Put all the typical 'boy-racer' bits on it like Mexico Details,Alloys,Rally seats, twin Webers. The speedo used to tell me I could get 62mph in second  :D. One of the few cars, I did'nt right-off!

My last car prior to leaving for Thailand (thought that might be a good idea to add that too) was a BMW330ci Now that was crazy fast!  confused4 blink1

bit different to my pick-up here  happy3

My first car was so bad I can't believe I stupidly bought this junk!(example of the model in the picture I posted).
The car lasted for about 5 months, price was 500 USD at that time.
The electronic problems,gear problems..  >:(
the car has "special" shocks system (I think similar to the Citroen's BX Hydraulic Suspension).
Every day the car went down and down to the road..what can I say? sport car!!  party16
Of course I was the first 1 with car so I picked up my friends whenever we needed to go out but the only problem was it didn't attracted much girls also, either none of us was sure how we'll end up the night (did you say towing service??..  :( ).
Not to mention my friends started to be ashamed to go out with this car (interior color "red-wine",
Exterior "Sick pearl white"  confused1 ).

Gave up on this adventure after stuck several times. The car sat in the garage outside waited for somebody to take it away (tried to sell it to parts but no "buyers"..) eventually..after 1 year+  someone took it ,for free of course for free.. I almost paid somebody to take away this shame off my eyes..not to mention my father reminds me with his rolling eyes everytime we went out to the garage..  :'(  . Good times.. Back to my father's newish car
until the next car I bought 2 years later..  jumping9

My first car was a 1948 standard 8 convertible, with wind up front windscreen and detachable side windows. Bought 10th June 1961 for £75, (less than 5000bt). Wow - did it attract the women!

Wish I had it today - it would no doubt be worth a fortune. But now I can afford the women - Thai ones at least!

Thats a very brave statement, Claus confused1. My parents went up-market from a Moskvitch to one of them terrible cars.
If I remember right the good thing about, them was they had a very comprehensive tool kit including light.
I think they gave away the car and kept the toolkit  jumping1

First car Ford Anglia, primrose yellow with JPS roundels on the doors and a steering wheel the size of a tea plate.

I must have looked a complete TWAT !

Still remember the registration no VCT 603 (and also a later Austin A40 that I bought for 40 Quid after I had smashed up a mini - that was 60 BYE. I scrapped the car for £20 - I had no idea about 'cherished' number plates back in 1974 !).

Now, the WORST car I ever had.... that would have to be just after my first divorce and after the drive shaft fell off the Allegro.. it was DAF variomatic. That WAS embarrassing, I would only take it out at night !

My first car (actually I was a part owner, with 2 other guys), was a 1953 Hudson Hornet.

We were all too young to have driving license's (age 15), but somehow my friend brokered a deal to buy the car for a whopping $50 USD.  5555

We used it more as a "clubhouse", where we'd drink beers and listen to the radio while parked on the street.  Then late at night, when there was no traffic in the neighborhood (USA city suburb)...we'd take turns driving it around the area.

Once the thrill of ownership had tapered off, we realized what a "tank" we had acquired.  So then we would take turns bashing down stop signs and street signs and such, then marveling at the minimum damage sustained to our vehicle.  5555

Little b@stards we were, I guess!    cool2

My first car sounds boring after the previous comments.  It was a 1991 suzuki swift.  Yes  ... 1991 and at that stage I bought it, it was 8 years old, which makes me fell very young after reading some of the previous posts.  Great little car though, the back seats folded down flat for a....hmm.   It ran mostly on petrol fumes when I was a student.
As the World cup in 2002 was in Japan and Korea the matches were on the TV in the morning time in Ireland.  After one match (and a few pints) I went for a sleep, woke up only a few hours later still drunk but thinking it was the next day and that I was fine I got into my car, headed to the (then) girlfriends house.  I got 200 yards down the road and crashed into a wall.  brick1.   Bye Bye little swifty.  wave1
