Hi Bums
It would appear that with effect from 6th July PBair have reverted to 3 flights a week on the BKK - Buriram - BKK route
They seem to have dropped the Sunday flight see ... http://www.pbair.com/en-TH/inside/fly9Q/?pageid=14000
As far as I can see everything else unchanged, although current itinerary now up to 24/10 rather than 30/10.

PS: I have not looked at other routes so could be worth checking out!
-
Thank you for a very important information update.
-
It doesn't surprise me in the slightest ,due to the current economic climate I would guess.I feel the capacity of the ATR is too large to be profitable on this route & they no longer have anything smaller.
-
Hi Bums
Where is the logic...... earlier this year PBair operated 3 flights per week from Buriram to Bangkok with that nice little Embraer RJ 145 jet which had 50 seats, Every time I flew with them it was about half full.
So what do they do, they increase the flights to four a week and use an ATR72 with 75 seats. So the capacity goes from 150 seats a week to 300! Now I may not be the sharpest knife in the drawer but you have now gone from a 50% to 25% load factor.
Therefore it should be no surprise that they have now cut back to 3 flights per week. During my time in Issan we have been through 5 different operators on the route and reduced the service from daily to the current 3 flights per week.
Perhaps we should use it a bit more or we may lose it altogether!

Just flew out today to BKK. There is a one way special continuing of 2000 Baht through 24 October, but have to buy at the airport. Bought a round trip for 4000 baht jumping3.
Came in last Friday, pilot did a carrier landing, planted the plane. confused4 As we taxied to the terminal I saw with the wind sock that we land with wind. Was please today that we took off into the wind. jumping8
Having arrived by taxi, train, van and plane, I prefer to fly. Hope PB Air continues, but plane out on 8 July was less than half full.

Hi Urleft
PB air website is still showing 2,000 baht offer finished 30/6 although I am not surprised as the site still shows the Embraer jet!
Where did you hear that it was extended until 24/10? Also can you buy ticket at discounted price in Bangkok airport as well as Buriram?
thanks

They had it posted at the Buriram Airport ticket window, I read twice to make sure it said 24/10. jumping4 I would assume you can buy at BKK as well as at Buriram (or other PB Air offices).

Has anyone else tried to book online through the PBair site. I have tried all morning and I keep getting;
There are too many people accessing the Web site at this time.
Please try Refresh button
First time I have tried but makes me wonder if it ever does work. If it can be booked online from anywhere in the world, that would be extremely handy for me.
-
It sound like mistake with your typing details or internal problem of the website.
Try later again or contact with them directly.

PS: Matt I have used site to book tickets many times from within Thailand and from UK. Just a case of keep trying!!!

On checking the PB air website from UK at 15.40 hours UK time approx 21.40 Thai time I also get the website busy screen.
Think it must have contracted swine flu!

OK thanks guys, yep still busy screen when trying now, hope they get some Tamiflu soon!
In the interim can anyone recommend a good travel agent to use in Buriram? English language good, Visa card good, although not essential.
Cheers
Matt
PS I mean a travel agent who can book with PBair, without having to take my honda scooter out to the airport.

PBair have an office selling air-tickets outside of "speed" disco (daytime only of course).
You'll see sticker of "thai airways" on the glass door.
If you have any trouble finding them you can always come to our place and I'll help you with it.
Cheers. happy2

On your next map update would you add that location? helpsos
I assume where it has DISCO in the middle of your map is where you are talking about.

Hi urleft
I am no Buriram expert but know your assumption is correct because I always park the truck outside that place when visiting the Bamboo Bar.

Hey Dave,
I am sure you have a better idea than me as I just come to Buriram ever so often, then spend most of my time in Ban Yang.
So I sometimes I think I know was is said, but need confirmation.
