and by the way, Marriage extension seems to get more complicated every year, I was told to expect a visit from the police in the next few days. Hey ho, maybe I'll be at home when they turn up unannounced.
I talked to another guy who also thought that said things were tightening up.

davureburn, I've had the same experience twice. On both occasions they telephoned the day before they arrived to confirm we would be home. They couldn't give us a time as they inspect up to 12 cases a day. We were the last on the list as we were the furthest from Kap Cheong. Our visit was at 7pm in the evening. On both occasions the police were obviously tired but courteous.

They did that to us last year, and I'm on a retirement extension, so it's not just marriage extensions anymore. As Tassie said, they called the day before and again on the way over that day. They spent maybe 90 minutes here, and really only wanted to talk to the PuYai and a neighbor about me.

My H.R. department is in touch with Thai Immigration on a weekly basis. In the very near future the 90 day report and some minor functions will be possible in Buriram at the large building known as the Provincial Center or Buriram Civic Center https://goo.gl/maps/b5PKyY8dwhp (https://goo.gl/maps/b5PKyY8dwhp)

Pichai, maybe transferring the entire section responsible for Farangs could be transferred to Buiram. Most of all the Farangs dealing with Kap Choeng live closer to Buriram than they do Kap Choeng. Just a thought.

Tassie: That is flattering to think I have any influence on the fine folks who work at the Thailand Immigration office. I may work with some local politicians, have a good relationship with the Buriram Provincial Electricity Authority, get along splendid with the Provincial Water Authority, but it is fair to say the "aliens" who work inside my store, clean Ruangsangthai, and load trucks on my loading dock from Cambodia, Myanmar and the United States understand there is a strict set of rules and regulations with the Thailand Immigration Office. Those trips to the Thai Consulate outside of Thailand were not optional for aliens who are employed full time at Ruangsangthai. The drive every 90 days to Kap Choeng will be a task the employees will not miss. Being able to wait in the queue at the Buriram Provincial Civic Center Building will be a treat for the foreign employees of Ruangsangthai Hardware.

So this is the info I got from the police officer that just left. An office will be established near Khao Kradong for 90 days reports and change of address. Next month... wait and see!
He was not from Immigration police, he had a badge labelled ' Investigation Police', haven't seen that one before.
He also told me that he had arrested 20 people this year 'from Africa' that had been working scams, mainly to do with marriage extensions. That may explain why these visits are becoming more frequent, although if I understand correctly, in my case at least this will happen only every five years. (I am very obviously married). He asked me twice if I was doing farm work and also if I was healthy, which was a new one for me.
A nice, correct guy, he told me I could report this info here.
Petrol money was put in an envelope, I suppose that's fair enough.
