This week a French expat came to Ruangsangthai to increase the water pressure in his home. I was pleased to show him one of the four sizes of Diaphragm water tanks that can be adjusted to increase water pressure in a home and minimize the use of a water pump.

Can you please elaborate on this ? Why is the use of a pump reduced when installing this piece of equipment ?
Thanks....

Thank you for the question. The simple answer is the Hitachi water pump is used to put water from your water storage tank into the blue diaphragm tank. When hooked up in a professional manner you will save electricity, hear the pump far less often, and lengthen the life of the house water pump. I'll post photos this weekend of a booster pump used for higher residential building, or where many bathrooms are running off of one water meter.

The tanks are in a sealed system and contain air inside (behind a diaphragm) and as it fills with water the air is compressed to a smaller volume. Whe the water is released the expanding air increases the pressure at which the water is released.
You only need the pump to fill the tank.

Some of the customers of Ruangsangthai have very demanding technical requirements for a home water supply in Isaan. This drawing was done by a customer of Ruangsangthai and I was delighted to provide important parts of this residential water supply.

Thank you for taking the effort to explain. In fact the info on sealed system and air inside the tank makes sense.
Will have a look at my own system.
Thanks....

Question for Khun Pichai.
If you have an underground water storage tank and you want to use this Diaphragm Tank to increase the water pressure in your house, would that mean that you need another pump to pump the water into the pressure tank or not ?
2nd Question.
How much approx is such a pressure tank ?

Residential one or two floor homes in Buriram or Surin province are fairly easy to have proper water pressure to activate hot water heaters sold in Thailand. Resorts, smaller hotels and commercial buildings have more demanding water pump specifications. I am here to help expats who become involved in ownership or management of resorts and small business ventures in Buriram province that require clean water at reasonable water pressure to every tap and faucet.

Mike: I currently have in stock in Buriram at the larger Ruangsangthai Home Improvement Store located across the Buriram _ Phutthaisong Highway 2074, from the Buriram PEA office building, four sizes of the blue pressure diaphragm tanks. 100 liter, 200 liter, 300 liter and 500 liter diaphragm tanks are in stock and available for customer pick up, delivery and/or installation. They start in price at 6000 baht, with the larger tanks not much more expensive than the 100 liter tank.
Yes, you would need a small water pump to pull water from your sub surface underground water tank and have that water flow into a diaphragm water tank.
