I read about malaria in another post on this forum:
It is very interesting to know that the resistance to antimalarial drugs almost always starts in Cambodia. Then spread to Thailand and the rest of the world. The recent emergence of resistance is a worrying fact with the same trend. A resistance to artemisinin (the latest drug against malaria) is starting to show now and have both scientists and the medical community very worried. The reason is that there are no other or newer drugs in the pipe line to take the place of artemisinin if malaria parasites build up a resistance. People die of malaria. What are the reasons for this phenomenon? One reason is the use of fake drugs produced in China and then sold cheaply in Cambodia and elsewhere. These fakes do not allow for the optimum dosage of the drug and the parasites get used to it (mutate) and build up a resistance.
All I'm saying is - When you buy antimalarial drugs, make sure they are real and from a registered medical practitioner. These little packets of drugs from your friendly neighborhood store is not good enough and may assist in killing someone else later because of a resistance developed due to fake medications.

Thank you for the very important information you gave here.
Always need to be extra carefull and look on the labels of the pills you're buying in the pharmecies in Thailand,
many pills are fake or have other side effects then the original pills they aim to equivalent to them.
Anyway, interesting information and warning regarding the antimalarial drugs as well.
