This (it seems) is only in effect for people with No Valid Visa's in their passport, can anyone confirm this ?
-
It seems it happens with all Visa Types according to this post in the topic GL linked to
The one closest to Chantaburi didn't let anyone cross and come back. Not even the people with multiple non O visa. My friend went there today.

Maximum confusion and mayhem at the moment. Gives this a few days for the mud to clear. whistle

Thai response take it out on the farangs rather than the corrupt, inept officials.

UJ posted this today
Update on the crossing today. From an email I got from a visa run company.
Kanchanaburi, Ban Pakard and Aran did not stamp anyone n/out, even Farangs with valid visa they turned away.
Ban Laem stamp people with valid visa, but they would not allow companies with normal destinations of Aran, Kanchanaburi or Ban Pakard to go to Ban Laem.

Thanks for the reply. I take it your getting the 60 day as your married. If so why don't you got to Savannhket Lao to the Thai Consulate and apply for and get an O-multy visa based on marriage good for 15 months. No money is required only proof of marriage. Cost is 5,000 baht.

Wow did not know this was an option, thanks il look into it! Never been to lao before , 15 months for 5000 sounds to good to be true ;)

Its true and a very viable option. Numerous people in the area are on this and with the way things are going I suggest that you make a serious effort and go. Basic requirement is Original marriage certificate, a copy of it, a copy of your wife house book and Thai ID. You and your passport and 5000 baht. Pick it up the next day. NO money is required to be shown for this visa. Its good for 12 months but play your card correctly and you can stretch it to 15 months.
Take the wife with you and make it a short holiday.
