Chong Chom Border Crossing Crack Down.
I have just returned and can verify that The Chong Chom Border Crossing has joined the list for a major crack down on OUT-IN Jumpers. If your on a valid visa or extension to stay no problem anything else you could have a problem. For info on what you may or may not due follow TV. Even they can not figure it out loco

So for now, the rule is you must have Non-O or retirement visa or something similar and go through the process of 90 day reporting. Seems the only way to go now.

DD ..... If you have a MULTI ENTRY Non O VISA you will have NO dramas crossing a Land border.
If you have a MULTI ENTRY TOURIST VISA you will have NO dramas crossing a Land border.
You would only do 90 day reporting if you had an EXTENSION of stay (marriage / retirement) from your Non O.
OR
You are here on a MULTI ENTRY NON IMMIGRATION OA VISA. (see below)
5.1 Upon arrival, holder of this type of visa will be permitted to stay in Thailand for 1 year from the date of first entry. During the one-year period, if he or she wishes to leave and re-enter the country, he or she is required to apply at the Immigration office for re-entry permit (single or multiple) before departure. In the case of leaving the country without a re-entry permit, the permit to stay for 1 year shall be considered void.
5.2 At the end of the 90-day stay , the foreigner must report to the immigration officer in his or her residence area and report again every 90 days during his or her stay in Thailand. The foreigner may report to the police station if there is no immigration office in his or her residence area.

It will be interesting to see how long this crackdown lasts and if it does what difference it will make to the profile of the Farang population here. None I suspect.

The crack down in 2006/07, zip zap, zero. Did lose some regular faces but gained new ones.
