I didn't know it was the same guy. Last time I went in there, to buy a decent crash helmet, there weren't any bikes in there.
The new place seems to have slowed alot . The construction looks about the same as it did last month.
-
Agree on the construction slow down. Not sure what is happening there?
They had about 4 brand spanking new KTM Duke 200's out the front of Tops original shop week before last.
Also spotted some bigger ones inside.
Time for another look see I think :)
-
i shall venture over again next week and take a look myself i think as a toy for myself is definetly on the cards
-
ust recently opened and definitely worth a plug.
R K Superbike ... located on Jira Rd. Going out of town past the University through traffic lights. Coffee Connection on RHS. Keep going and just before the Caltex service station.
Owner is a Thai guy named TOP. Studied in Australia and has perfect English.
Open 8.30 - 5.30 Monday to Saturday 8.30 - 12.00 Sunday.
044 621218
OK sorry to appear stupid but could anybody give directions as if i am driving there from nang rong not sure where the university is yet as my eyes are firmly fixed on the many motorcles all around me whilst driving in the city (obviously not for safety just so i dont miss any off the sexy little girls riding them :) )
-
ban1216 .. I have added the location of R K Superbike to the Buriram Map Attached.
Look along JIRA ROAD ... its on the Southern side of it.
The actual shop is located just about where the "R" in RK Superbike is.

Update on the KTM shop ....
The new shop under construction should be all finished by the end of October. The fit out team that Top is using are currently refurbishing one of the Amari hotels in Bangkok.
Currently there is not enough room at the existing shop for a full showroom. However ALL models that are available here in Thailand can be sent from stock held in Bangkok.
The shop has been doing exceptionally well sales wise. Top has sold 25 of the new KTM 1190 Adventurer bikes in the last few months plus a heap of the Duke 200's.
If anyone is interested, he has a promotion going at the moment on the 1190 Adventurer. Free hard case panniers + free 1st class insurance. Total of 90K Baht.

:o :o :o If only.
Freebies add up to 90K Baht.
Bike is 1.19 Million Baht bike038
-
Thought as much lol wish i could justify that to myself but im sorry thats a lot of money for a toy even the 200 is expensive for what it is but could be tempted although am slightly favouring an enduro bike given the condition of the roads here and the use that i will be putting it to (not planning any major mileage just a little entertainment )
-
Has anybody any idea what prices the duke 200 (on the road) are going for im not back until Christmas was thinking of treating myself
-
^ Just under 200K Baht at the moment, but I reckon will be less by the time you get back.
-
Sorry Kerr69. I haven't had time to get in there.
I will have a look soon. I will try to get a full price list of every model for you.
-
KTM are great bikes. I will have to go and look my myself.
I used to do a bit of motocross in my youth. I rode a KTM 250. That was one hell of a powerful bike.
-
And as previously stated, Top, the guy who owns the KTM shop, speaks perfect English.
Makes life very easy when asking questions
-
@Starman
That would be much appreciated as i'm hearing these are quite abit more expensive than the Honda crf250m
Kerrs69
-
60000 baht more than a honda crf 250 m and honestly i couldnt justify the price as i wanted something for fun thats cheap to run and reliable and wont break on the dirt roads here (ie enduro bike) i know the ktm is a fantastic bike as in england i owned 6 of them from the 600 duke upto the 990 smr and all were fantastic bikes except the 690 duke as i managed to break the gearbox on that one on the way home from its second service
even in england parts for these are hard to come by in the dealer network so i would imagine here the problem is worse where as honda parts are everywhere here and the crf is made here so very cheap to buy off the shelf spares
I bought a crf250 l
first impressions are its well made
but slow and heavy
i have allready ordered and fitted an electronic box that alters the fueling and this has made the bike quicker and smoother next thing is an exhaust which will help a little more then i think the bike will do everything i need it to do here in lahan sai

Yeah suspected as much about price and parts the duke is apparently half the price in Cambodia but i will not be going there to buy it will probably be the Honda after all that's purchased
-
If you get a honda contact me as i have a guy in thailand who imports the fuel injection controller and exhausts and airfilters and the prices seem ok (cheaper than importing them yourself anyway ) and honestly the bike needs them to release its true potential (theres even a big bore kit availabe )

Ban
Are we talking around the 135,000bht for the crf250m?
-
the crf 250 M is 146000 bht :)
-
the 250 L is 139000 bht

Oh and i must add after 600kms riding that the crf250L crashes well after a 40kmh collision with a dog only 3500 baht in parts and was still rideable away from the scene of the accident
I did however spend 5400bht as i changed the full body kit for the black and red plastics with new decals ;D
