Title: Planning on retiring in Buriram in a year or two, would like to introduce myself

My wife of 20 years is from Lahansai, Buriram. I am planning on moving from Hawaii (North shore Oahu) and retiring to Buriram in the next couple of years. We will build a modest house in Lahansai and spend a couple of months at a time there. Looking forward to taking the next step and making the move. I appreciate the advice and opinions of members of Buriram expats in all things Thailand. Our next visit will be Jun/Jul 2013 maybe I will meet some of you them. I enjoy fishing, wood working, and the simple pleasures of life. I am looking forward to retirement in Issan.

Welcome Ahab, and good luck.  You won't see any beached White Whales here like you probably do around the pipeline (but I have seen a few in Pattaya).

Welcome Ahad...My wife is also from Lahansai but we hang our hat in Buriram....you will enjoy your time here...Like Urleft said not many White  Whales around here never like them much anyway but there is some cute little Dolphins.....
