Title: Sri Lanka v. England, 2nd Test
Post by: isanbirder on April 03, 2012, 04:55:05 PM
England started off well, getting three wickets for about 30... but now it's SL 174-4.  Responsible, of course, is the splendid Mahela Jayawardene, heading for his 31st Test century.

I call him splendid because of his appearance on one of those silly clips on TV when they ask a new batsman what his favourite shot is (Shahid Afridi "Anything which scores six!").  The only sensible answer is, "It depends what the bowler bowls."  But Mahela had another, "The forward defensive stroke!"  Collapse of silly inteviewer.

Another quote about Mahela, "His class oozes all over the SCG (or was it the MCG?)."  Ugh!
