Title: getting out of Bkk
Post by: NongKi bloke on November 04, 2011, 08:25:43 AM
Im flyinging into Bkk on Tues and 2 days later hope to bus it to Nong Ki.
I've been told by an uninformed mate that the road is closed at Rangsit.
Can anyone confirm this or hopefully know otherwise.
Thanks
Neil

If you come the bottom road which comes thro Nang Din Dong,Packham,Nang rong ,you should do it in around 5.5 hours.......If you stay on the 304 to Korat it could take you 10 to 12 hours as there are huge tailbacks going into the mountains.....I'll give you an update later as 2 lads are going down to Pattaya today

Looks like your mate wasn't that uninformed after all  :)

Good luck with the journey.

I came this way three days ago, there are substantial floodings and the drivers are taking routes down roads which are closed.dont be surprised if one of these buses turn over in the deep waters

Irresponsible driving

Took 8  hours from Buriram

Id say that things are now worse the water was continuing to rise at a alarming rate.

Thanks for the replies.I'm not overly paranoid, but i don't fancy being upside down in deep water or deep sh*t.
Flying to Udon for a few days, she'll join me there, then we'll head down to Korat and Nong Ki.

Id stay well away from the buses,IF They took routes open be ok

BUT THEY DONT

I was very uneasy at the drivers chosen roads on the outskirts of bkk

A accident waiting to happen

Still long tailbacks going into the mountains on 304.....Took a lad going the opposite way 4 hours to get to Kabinburi instead of the normal 2
