Fill the 5L  container and pour it into the 3L container. Now there are 2L remaining in the 5L container. empty the 3L container and pour these 2L into the 3L container. Now the 3L container needs 1L  more to fill it up. Now fill the 5L container and pour 1L into the 3L container  to fill it. The 5L container  has 4L  in it now. cool1

You have 5 Pill-bottles full of Viagra. Each Viagra weighs 10 gram, except for the Copy Viagra contained in one of the Pill-bottles, where each Viagra  weighs only  9 gm. Given a scale, how could you tell which Pill-bottle had the copy Viagra in it by making just one measurement on the scales ???

One of the 5 bottles irrespective of how many tablets therin will weigh less.

Weigh all 5 bottles together  . Record the weight.

Take off the bottles one by one and observe the reduction in weight. The one weighing least will reduce the overall weight the least.

(Does that constitute making more than one measurement?)

Clarification needed Sugar Daddy.

You mention "  the Copy Viagra contained in one of the Pill-bottles" suggesting there is just one  yet you go on to say "where each Viagra  weighs only  9 gm" suggesting there is more than one copy.

Depending on how many viagras there are in total, it would be possible to start providing CoCo with one a day, until one does not work. That might take some time though

If you took one a day from each Pill bottle and gave it to CoCo to find out which one was the copy might work but not if your a Pharmacist and the labels have fallen off the pill bottles and your have a customer waiting

Don't think "Sorry come back it 5 days " will cut it with your customer  ::)

1. Mark the Pill bottles with numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
2. Take 1 Viagra from Pill Bottle 1, take 2 Viagra from 2, take 3 from 3, take 4 from 4 and take 5 Viagra from Pill Bottle 5.
3. Put all of them on the scale at once and take the measurement.
4. Now, subtract the measurement from 150 ( 1*10 + 2*10 + 3*10 + 4*10 + 5*10)
5. The result will give you the Pill bottle number which has copy Viagra in it

OK...... another Viagra riddle whilst we're waiting for Burirambuilder

You have 8 Viagra. One of them is a copy ( a Dud  steamingMad ) and weighs less ( 9 grams instead of 10 grams )than others but you have a balance to measure your Viagra against each other. In 2 weighings how do you find which Viagra is the copy one ???
Title: Re: a question with an answer - a riddle
Post by: smithy99 on October 09, 2011, 05:36:07 PM
Weigh three Viagra against another three Viagra. If both weigh the same , then just weighing the remain two (one against one) this will show the Copy Viagra . If the sets of three do not weigh equal, then weigh any two Viagra in the lighter set, one against the other . The balance will show if the lighter one is on the balance,if not the remaining Viagra is the Copy one.

8= (3 + 3 ) + 2

(the numbers in the brackets are Viagra'a on either side of the balance)

if both are equal, then

2= (1 + 1) done.

else, from the lighter set of 3

3= (1 + 1) + 1 done.

Weigh three Viagra against another three Viagra'..............

You are the Riddle master Smithy99  love5

One last Viagra riddle and that's me done...

You are sitting at a bar and you've found a girl you like.In your pocket you have a bag of mixed generic Viagra, some red, some blue and some green but because they're not the real McCoy you have to take 2 to get the full effect ( as they aren't the real Pfizer Viagra,BTW..never mix your generic pill's  nono). So the riddle is .....If you only have enough time to put your hand in your pocket one time  so as the Bar-Girls doesn't spot you taking your sexual booster how many Viagra must you grab to make sure you have 2 of the same colour...so as to ensure you get a Full Monty.???

This should be easy to solve, even for a pi**ed up Monger sitting at at Bar

I am not a Viagra person so I applied the test to 3 different coloured Smarties.

My answer was 4 because, worst case, you get one of each but the fourth will give you a pair.

Obviously, I would have paired them off in little plastic bags so as to avoid such an issue.

But I think I can remeber from my Sunday School days, that I was made to attend  steamingMad

"If I asked the other Keeper which door leads to heaven, what would he tell me?"

The door that the keeper specifies will be the one that leads to hell, so you know the other one leads to heaven.

This is because if you asked the keeper who tells the truth this question, he will tell the truth in that the other keeper will lie, and show you the door to hell. If you asked the keeper that always lies, he will lie by showing you the door to hell, because the other keeper would show you to door to heaven.

A load of rubbish really... but an interesting Conundrum

well if there is no sophistry (Hope i used the right word ) the math go like that:

in 1 box 6 mice + 6x6pup's = 42 mice x 4 legs = 168 legs

there is  6 girls (bar girls very important) x6 boxes = 36 boxes

so 36 boxes x 168 legs = 6048

don't forget the girls (once again bar girls :)) = 12 legs

all together 6060 legs

You have a glass with 1 Bacterium in it .
this Bacterium divide itself to 2 every 1 second.
So first second divide to 2 then theres 4 then there is 8 and so on...

The glass will be full after 1 minute.

After how many second the glass will be 1/4 full ?

I agree with 58 seconds.

(Half full after 59 seconds because it will double to full capacity after 60 seconds - ergo, it will be a quarter full 1 second earlier than being half full).

I would ask  "Which road have I just come from"

The answer would help you decide which kipper is which, but not which road to take.

Whichever kipper I asked my question of, i would receive an answer. The kipper of heaven would tell me correctly the road I had just come on, whilst   the kipper of hell would tell me the incorrect road because he lies.  So I would know which kipper was which.

I agreed, you would know which kipper is which, but not which road to take.  The riddle says:

"you have only one question that you can ask one of those two keepers in order to choose which way to go."

How does knowing which kipper is which help you choose which way to go?

You have 10 bags .

In each bag you have 100 coins.

Each bag contain coins Weighs 10 gram each except 1 bag of fake coins that Weighs 9 gram each.

You have only 1 time you can put coins or bags on the Weight to  Determine which bag contain the fake coins.

How would you do that
?   :o

Take 1 coin from bag 1, 2 from bag 2, 3 from bag 3 up to bag 10 when you take 10 coins

You now have 55 coins which would if they were all real weigh 550grams.  (55 x 10grams)

However as 1 bag contains only 9 gram coins, the reduction in total weight will point to the bag containing fake coins.

If for example the total weight was 542grams, there would be 8 fake coins, at 9 grams each and these would have come from bag number 8
