Blessing a New Car in Thailand:  drivinggear

Although it is not common these days because it's not really Buddhism, you can ask a Buddhist monk to come to your house or go to temple to bless a new car.

In fact, the monk should be consulted before you buy your car in order to know the precise day and hour it is deemed auspicious to bring your car to your house for the first time.

People who are often sceptical about the powers of a blessing in protecting the car and its occupant often rush out to get a blessing after the car has been involved in an accident.
