Title: Bus company recommendations?
Post by: teppo42 on June 17, 2010, 01:03:38 AM
Howdy!

I'm thinking of taking the bus to Bangkok next week. I usually use the train
but maybe it's time to try something else. I haven't taken a bus ride in
Thailand for 12 years and never to/from Buriram, so I have absolutely no
knowledge of the state of the buses nowadays.

I walked around the bus station today and the "99 bus company" or something
like that seemed OK. Any good or bad experiences out there, anyone? Or feel
free to recommend another company. I suppose the prices are about the same
regardless of the company? And anyway, are the prices about the same as
for the train ticket (2nd class sleeper was a bit under 600 baht if I remember
correctly)?

I join the recommendation on "Nakhon Chai Air".
Good buses, relatively quite drive as well (some buses of other companies have noisy engines getting into the passenger area).
Buriram-Bangkok will cost you around 400 Baht VIP.
*Don't know about the "gold" prices.

OK thank you. Do they have an office at the station or a counter
or sometthing like that? I have to ask because I don't remember
seeing that name when I walked around there yesterday...

Look at the video below:
0:38-0:43 seconds (inside the video) is the "Nakhon Chai Air" office. (the blue seats)
There is a counter and you can check time table and availability and even choose your seat inside the bus
(like in the airplane).  broccoli1
