Title: Ciders in thailand.
Post by: Admin on April 17, 2010, 02:35:59 PM
For those of you love ciders drinks such as Magners, Olde English, Black Thorn, Natch.

You can order these cider brands from a company name: "Apple Honey Co. Ltd"  *See picture attached. jumping1
The seller name is Selina Lovett
Cell phone: 086-8498923
Office: 038-716224

Price is 2400 Baht / 24 cider cans/pack of 500ml / 440ml.
*Same price for both sizes and any brand. Strange but they price it same to "keep it simple"(their words).

That's 100 Baht/can.

I didn't checked Magners but it must be more expensive than these brands.  gossip1

And a question:
Which cider do you like the most? Vote in the poll     party5

Natch out of a can is pretty good IMO.......The Stowford Press Cider which seems to be on tap in many Pattaya bars nowadays takes somes beating

I'm an occasional cider drinker. Usually drink Strongbow. Don't see it on the list.

Magners is the best that I have had.   party9

But running a close 2nd IMHO is Hornsby Crisp Apple Cider:

Unfortunately have not seen in Thailand.

If we are expanding this outside of Thailand, then a company 'Dead Rat Cider Supplies' not too far from Tewksbury in the UK has a vast range of proper ciders!!!!!!!

Scrumpy Jack & Strongbow are my faves. I also like Stow Press but it's not common in the North of England. I like magners as well but as I have elevated blood sugar levels, it's not good for my health - hence the dry cider preference....I also like  "snakebite" made with strongbow & Stones bitter....lovely

Had Westons on draught April 20, was almost 1st class.  Over 60 baht less than Magners, might consider changing to it.

How much and size for Magners at the Coffee Corner?   party9

BTW, Magners now offers a Pear variant, fairly decent.  However, I do not really think it is worth the price.

Recommend you try the Le Katai Resturant (http://www.lekataipattaya.com/where.htm (http://www.lekataipattaya.com/where.htm)).  The Westons on tap was cold and excellent at 160 a pint.

They also have Magners for 200 Bt a pint bottle.  You can sit on the covered deck and people watch if you wish.   coolbar

Cheers.

Anyone know if Man U v Stoke on anywhere.

Not a fan of either but a few beers and a bit of craic wouldn't do any harm.

seen a few Man U and even a Stoke car sticker around town so must be some interest

you don't really have to share with us the results... hahaha

seriously, its lighter than beer, good alcohol level and refreshing, that's why I like to change alcohol drinks consumption from time to time (not that I drink often anyway).  spiral

What is inverted sugar?

Sugar broken down to its component parts, glucose and fructose. Easy to make by disolving sugar into water (2:1), adding lime or lemon juice for acidity and then boiling for 20 - 30 minutes. Yeast cope better with inverted sugar than whole sugar (sucrose).
