Thailand exports up 30.8% last month

January exports up 30.8%
The country’s exports rose 30.8 per cent to US$13.72 billion in January compared to the same month last year, Commerce Minister Porntiva Nakasai said on Friday.
The month’s imports totaled US$13.21 billion, an increase of 44.8 per cent, giving the country a trade surplus of US$516 million, Mrs Porntiva said.
The minister expects exports to increase by 14 per cent to US$170 billion this year, as targeted.

AND which 'pie in the sky' were those figures plucked from????????? If exports have increased by that huge amount why are whole fleets of container lorries & trailers still lying idle & up for sale near Laem Chabang port.
