HI guys,
I need to clarify this question please:
Is there any Minimum PEA electric monthly bill in case of an empty place?

I think it all depends on what size meter you have and how the property is registered ....I think its about 38 -ish Baht for a normal meter .

Its a residential property (semi commercial shop house), What worries me is the need to follow the bills while not being there, that even a small unpaid bill may cause the PEA to come and remove the meter off the place...
What do you think is the best solution for this situation?

Why don't you pay a few hundred baht extra and keep an eye on it via the PEA app ,if you don't want to put money in, with the app you just log in around the bill date and pay on line.

Interesting, can you expend on the application? how do I connect to my meter? witht he consumer number or what?
I will be happy to get more info how to do it.
Can I pay in advance in the application? How?

Go to the App Store on your phone and download PEA smart plus ,register and fill out details that you can find on your last bill , I just checked on line and because I don't have any due bills, im not able to make a payment , I don't know if you had a bill for 2000 and you pay 3000 baht if that would work, I will try that next bill.but download the app first to check

Ok, I thank you for this advice, already a good solution for a remote payment. I will check if it works for me to register my user there. :)

I pay PEA by the equivalent of a 'direct debit' and the payment comes out on the 10th of each month. The bill is issued around 24th monthly and the missus gets an sms a couple of days before the payment is taken.
Set this up with your banl and keep a few hundred/thousand Baht in the account as you see fit............... you will never get cut off.

Like Co-co, monthly payment is automatically withdrawn. When we are out of the country, it's usually about 250 baht/mo.
One of the easiest issues to deal with remotely. Inlaws keep an eye out for anything unusual.

I don't think it's a good idea for the OP to do Direct Debit as the OP is trying to rent out his place so he will be paying the bill for the renters usage and then every month he has to try to get the money back.
Wozza's suggestion is the easiest for the OP, just download the APP from the PEA from the Appstore and then (after you register) can do the payments via the Bank Account.

Edit: Another suggestion could be if the OP has someone trustworthy living nearby, they can then, after the meter has been read, sent the BILL via LINE or Whatsapp to the OP and the OP can then (only after 2 days when the meter has been read) scan the code in his online banking app (Thai Bank of course) and then pay it that way.
We are doing that with our PEA Bill and the TOT Internet BILL from the OLD house. SIL sends us the BILLs via Line and we pay it that way. But make sure when they send the bill that all the info (BAR CODES etc) is clearly visiblie

Having a direct debit doesn't change that... IF he ever rents it he will still be liable for the electric bill. If the tenant defaults or sods off, that is what the deposit is for.

First this is my first post despite having registered a lifetime ago.
We only spend half the year in our property the rest in the UK. We have a direct debit with the PEA. A physical bill is put in our letter box but my wife also receives an email regarding how much is being taken out of her account. Never had a problem in over 4 years.
The umpur water bill is different as there is no direct debit. You can pay in advance or just get someone to pay. Not sure if bills are still being sent due to the drought. Saw a pic of our mains valve and its still active but someone is going to check for us.
Incidently wife has been trying to get back as we had sold some land and she needs to complete plus car tax and insurance is due in November. Demand from Thais trying to use the repat flights is far outstripping demand. Only 3 Thai A350 flights a month with 255 in economy and 5 in business class. Foreigners can now register for these but priority is given to Thai or Thai brothers and sisters as the embassy puts it. BTW the Amari in Buriram is available as an ASQ with supposedly free taxi transfer from swampy.
