Etta James - Live in Montreux (1975)

I went to Montreux most years ca. 1973 - 1980 but  I can't remember a thing about most of the musicians. and I didn't always go to the main venue which was expensive. I remember Champion Jack Dupree, B.B. King, Santana and Fats Domino, but only vaguely.
Etta Jones turned up in a small local jazz club  around 1983 or later unannounced and made me sing 'Oh Babe' while looking into her eyes. Unnerving. Maybe she was on at Montreux again that year.

In 1957 as a 12 year old, I went to the Sydney Stadium and saw Little Richard, Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps, Eddie Cochran, Allis Lesley and Johnny O'keefe and the Dee Jays.
The following, year in 1958, I went to the Sydney Stadium and saw Paul Anka, Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly and the Crickets, Jodie Sands and Johnny O?Keefe and the Dee Jays?.
What wonderful exciting memories.

Waltzing Matilda

The Band Played Waltzing Matilda
Those heroes that shed their blood and lost their lives ... You are now lying in the soil of a friendly country. Therefore rest in peace. There is no difference between the Johnnies and the Mehmets to us where they lie side by side here in this country of ours ... You, the mothers who sent their sons from faraway countries, wipe away your tears; your sons are now lying in our bosom and are in peace. After having lost their lives on this land they have become our sons as well.
These famous, heart-rending words, attributed to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, who was a commander of Ottoman forces at the Dardenelles during the first world war and later the founder of modern Turkey, grace memorials on three continents, including at Anzac Cove, Gallipoli. A procession of Australian prime ministers, from Bob Hawke to Kevin Rudd to Tony Abbott, have spoken them to invoke a supposedly special bond between Australia and Turkey forged amid the slaughter of the 1915 Gallipoli campaign in which some 8,700 Australian and more than 80,000 Ottoman troops died.

Daryls House is the name of the program which was screened many years prior to Covid.
It?s a fantastic series. Most episodes are available on YouTube. Well worth a look.
Daryl Hall is a superb musician and realy knows how to jam with a host of well known music artists.
If you like the old stuff check out the session he did with Smokey Robinson.
Also some fantastic covers of the old Hall and Oates stuff with Train.
Darius Rucker episode another of my favorites.
