Title: 90 Day report can be done online from April..
Post by: toffo on March 26, 2015, 08:04:58 PM
Online 90-day reporting for foreigners takes effect

Foreign citizens staying in Thailand are able to report their address every 90 days online via the Immigration Bureau's website, effective from April, the immigration spokesman said on Thursday.

Col Worawat Amornwiwat said the new service aimed to provide improved convenience for foreigners staying in Thailand, and prepare for regional integration under the Asean Economic Community (AEC).

Foreigners can make their 90-day report by filling in a notification form at http://extranet.immigration.go.th/pibics/online/tm47/TM47Action.do or through the usual portal entry at www.immigration.go.th. The service currently requires the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser. The bureau hopes to make it compatible with other popular browsers later.

Foreigners staying in Thailand on long-term visas are required to report to the Immigration Bureau every 90 days to confirm their residential address.

Until now this has usually required travelling to an imigration office to file a form, or authorising another person to do it, or filing the notification by registered post or EMS before the deadline with a stamped and addressed return envelope for the confirmation docket.

As an aside.... Kap Choeng yesterday confirmed that if your visa extension has been approved elsewhere (ie Chonburi) then your 90 day report must also be done there UNLESS you have a yellow book for a property in this area.

I've just moved into the area form Pattaya and I spoke to some guys at a local bar and two guys have got yellow house books and have been turned away. Have Kap Choeng made a sudden U turn ?

I simply report the facts of a visit by 2 Farang on Thursday.

A yellow book is acceptable.

Two guys visited, as they have always coincided their 90 day reports. Both have extensions from Chonbury. One has a yellow book the other doesn't.

The first guy went in was told about the "new law" - must 90 day report to the issuing office.

The Farang pointed out that no one told him this when he arranged the extension. "New law". Can only report here if you have a yellow book.

He duly fetched his yellow book from the car.

His friend then went up and said he needed a Certificate of Residence and produced signed copies of his wife's blue book and ID card. He then said he wished to do a 90 day report but did not have a yellow book. "Cannot" was the reply.

Slightly stupid really when all the yellow book does is confirm an address - and the officer had just done that by issuing the letter!

In fairness, and after some pleading, they agreed to do his 90 day report so the pair could remain on the same reporting date.

It is indeed strange.
Maybe they (IO) are trying to weed out those who use Visa Agents (Pattaya???) by crisply packing them off to a local issuing office who then catch them 'red handed'

I cannot see the sense in it otherwise??

How would they know?

As far as I am aware an immigration stamp is an immigration stamp and one acquired in Pattaya does not say "Hooky visa bought in Pattaya" on it.

I also know at least 5 people who also have condos or houses in Pattaya area but spend most of their time in Isaan. They have typically been doing extensions in Jomtien and the 90 day reporting up here.

A national automated reporting system will sort it all out anyway.

From what I have read on TV people are being turned away from doing 90 day reports from all over Thailand where there Extension renewal and 90 day report have not done been the same Immigration office, not just extension renewed at Chonburi

As stated on Thai Visa, it sounds like someone issued an edict in December.

I would just repeat that it all becomes pointless if the online reporting becomes a reality.

In the meantime those with 'external' extensions wishing to report to Kap Choeng can rest easy in the knowledge that they can do so if in possession of a Yellow book............ until they change the rules.......

Its worth a try. I know of another gentleman whose extension was issued in Bangkok being allowed to due his 90 day report at KCI because of his yellow house book showing his resident being in Surin.

A friend of mine went to do his 90 day report at KCI this week with a retirement Extension issued at Chonburi . He had his Yellow House book with him and they agreed to do his 90 day report ( they had done his previous 2 ). After they said to his wife ( in Thai ) " They will do his 90 day reports until his extension is finished but if he renews his extension at any other Immigration Office other than KCI they will refused to do his 90 day reports on that new extension if he wishes to live in KCI's catchment area . angry1
On-line reporting should be working by then..... hopefully  :)
