Title: Introduction
Post by: Stoneyrob on April 11, 2020, 01:45:11 PM
Hi I would like to introduce myself. I?m Rob Mckenzie, just recently moved to BuriRam. My wife and I have had a house built in BanBua. I?m looking forward to getting out and about and meetings some expats after the lockdown is over. I?m originally from Scotland, born in Perth but spent most of my working life in Aberdeen although the first 5 years of my career was in Banff. When I first came to Thailand I lived in HuaHin which was nice but my wife wanted to come home so here I am and it?s hot and all alcohol sales have stopped. Never mind I have a small stock of spirits to keep me going. Cheers Rob

Welcome!  My brother and I planned a trip to Edinburgh in August to see the Tattoo. Maybe you can suggest some sightseeing in the area since the Tattoo has been cancelled??!!  Regardless welcome to the group. There are knowledgeable folks on here that can help if you have any questions regarding life in issaan.

A walk up the Royal Mile to the castle would be good, lots of street entertainers and nice pubs. In between Edinburgh and Glasgow is the Falkirk Wheel - quite a remarkable piece of engineering. The Forth railway bridge is also worth seeing. If I think of anything else I will post.

Welcome to Buriram. Once the lockdown is over you will find a host of places to visit and have the opportunity to meet the range of people who live here. When you have found your feet take a trip down to Timeout (40 mins from Buriram). There is a fairly large group of us that meet there (mainly Wed & Sun pm).

Timeout 118 moo 9 Ban kradon, Phai San, Prakhonchai, Buri Ram

That brings back memories, my father would order a nip of Bells and a half of heavy. When you  walked a girl home from the dancing( pre disco days) there was a 50% chance that she worked at the G.A. Happy days.
