Din Dib is on the main road has good food but not necessarily a Farang hang out. I?m no aware of any in the muang area but stand to be corrected. There are several in Buriram.

Well there is the KFC at the new Tesco Lotus, I don't know of any others either, the small pizza booths make a reasonable pizza if you have a Thai speaker who can get across, just cheese and topping and nothing else especially not the sweet cheese they spread across the top when finished cooking oh and cook for twice the time they usually do.
Most of the places will tone down meals for you, ie less spice or just have it homemade or make trips to Buri Ram as Dave mentioned.

I live in a small village called Non Tacrong which is a couple of km from Lam Plaimat. I really like it here. Lam Plaimat is a growing/developing town with all that is needed, especially since the new Tesco Lotus opened.
There are quite a few Expats living in and around Lam Plaimat although there isn't really an Expat bar. However, Buriram is not far and we tend to go over there for a decent night out. Taxi costs to and from are reasonable but make sure you book for a late return.
Lots of Thai bars with live music and they are fine and welcoming.
Think 6 X7/11 stores now ( I'm loosing track) all major banks.
If you move out this way or are looking around send me a PM. Happy for you to stop by and say hello and to introduce you to other expats in the area.

I live several years in Lam Plai Mat. Its a quiet village about 35 km from Buriram. And i like it here.
Around Lamplaimat live many farangs. Most of them stay intheir home.
Sometimes you see them in the Tesco Lotus
There are no farang bars here. All we need we can buy in the local shops.
