I'm Gerry. Retired from the Post Office in England. I am living in Nong Song Hong at least that is the nearest place to me. A long way out. I think I might move nearer to Buriram City. Anywhere good to rent.?

Hi there...
What kind of house are you looking to rent.. ? Bedrooms? garden? Location inside city or edge? Price?.
-
I'm getting on a bit now so some thing easy to maintain. Maybe 2 bedrooms, a bit of a yard and somewhere to park the car.

There was a house for rent a couple of weeks back still....around 7000 THB in the city. 3 bedroom..i've seen a poster on the gate,
if you stand right in front of Taweekit supercentre... you have the railroad on your right hand...
Left side of the front of the building there is a small soi with a blue and white concrete gate over it. PornPong Village...is the name...
In the second or third soi..... left side...
Gl Also check Fb market place regularly section Buriram...if i hear more i will let you know..

OK. I have found a 1st floor condo for rent. A bit small but easy to keep clean and tidy. A good thing at my age. Also better than being 80kms from town.
I've been in Robinsons and BigC. They all tend to look the same. Same restaurants and shops.
I've found and frequented Roma, great food. Also had a small beer in the bar next to it. They are just down the road from me.
I think I'll like being in Buriram.

That's good news Jerry and welcome to Buriram. You may also want to try Paddys Bar which has a decent crowd and a very nice family running it. Also the 288 Bar. Again a good crowd and excellent hosts, tends to be a nice mix of Ex-Pats and Thais there. Bamboo Bar also nice.
Hope we meet at some point.

Sounds like you might be at Tada condo. If so across the street is a couple of night spots to have a beer and a bite to eat.
