Title: Firefox detected a potential security threat
Post by: Smithy on July 06, 2020, 02:26:41 PM
Somebody Posted on the Shout Box of Surin Farang Forum Yesterday

: Problems at BE....Firefox detected a potential security threat and did not continue to www.buriramexpats.com. If you visit this site, attackers could try to steal information like your passwords, emails, or credit card details.

IMHO this is not a big issue , its because BE hasn't registered and got a  SSL certificate. This means the BE still uses the HTTP which is unsecured , instead of HTTPS which is secured.

Obviously that person who posted on the SF shout box doesn't understand that some browser's will inform you that the site you are visiting doesn't have a SSL certificate which is not a big deal for a small local forum like BE . A website only needs a SSL certificate if its asking for any personal information ,as BE only asks for an email address and password to registers then a SSL certificate isn't really needed  BUT if you have been STUPID ENOUGH to use an email you use everyday and are using the same password then I suggest to be 100% safe that you change it, but I doubt very much a professional hacker would waste his time hacking into BE to steal someone username and password so they could post on BE using those stolen details   . .......so IMHO it's nothing to be worried about but I'm sure MOD will confirm this  :)

You could always join ......BUT you may need to give your passport details , name ,address ,phone number and possible DNA test to prove who you are as they are quite strict on who they let join  :D

You should be safe though ......  as they have a SSL certificate

55555555 it can't be worse then what immigration wants.

What  could be of interested to steal your userid and pwd here? The only advice is USE a DIFFERENT password on each and every website.

For the Admin of this site, have a look at let's encrypt (a free option to add HTTPS to the site) this should stop the complaining ;)
