Title: London Steak
Post by: Gerry on January 04, 2020, 01:56:21 PM
Eating out in Buriram I have tried a few places.

I have to say that London Steak is great. Not sure how I missed it before. I asked if it was newly opened only to be informed that the family have had restaurants in Buriram for a couple of years. The new place has been open for over a year now.

A large place in the town it is opposite Isuzu. Lots of seating, large selection on the menu and great prices. I now go there at least a couple of times a week.

When there I have noticed that there are a lot of Thai people enjoying their meals there. Not the usual family of Thai and an expat at the head of the table but a group of only Thais. That must be a great bonus for the place as their market is much bigger than others relying on only expat trade. Also good for us expats who's wives prefer to eat Thai food rather than western.

Great to have a place like this in Buriram. I hope the expat community frequent this place so it can remain. Too many places close only for expats to say "oh, that's sad" even though they hardly ever went there.

Please post if you have been there before and what you recommend. Also some other places that might not be that well known.

For me the location of London Steak House is perfect. When I take a trip up to Buriram for a night out I stay at a place very close to London Steak. Occasionally I will eat there at night before walking down the couple of blocks to The Living, Tawandang, Speed etc. However London Steak comes into its own for me in the morning. Stumble out of the hotel and cross the road for a good old hangover recovery breakfast fry up !!! Lots of coffee, orange juice and a Full English sets me up for the drive back home.

I've only been to the one on the back road beside Big C. I had heard he was opening a new one. Perhaps some better directions might be helpful, opening hours, menu and prices. The Big C suited me as it was over the road from the Duck joint and also Big C for some shopping and money exchange. London steak was usually timed at a 2 beers and lunch while the Mrs did the shopping etc

It's on the main road that runs right through Buriram. If you see the bus station on your right you head to the traffic lights and turn right. Keep going straight and pass the next set of traffic lights. London Steak is about 100 yards on the left, opposite Isuzu showroom.

I don;t have a copy of menu but can tell you that the food was very good and great value. My wife tells me that they have a Facebook page.

I was in there again over the weekend so asked some more questions. I was told that they closed the one by BigC. They had two smaller places, another not far from where they are now, so decided to merge into one big one.

Indeed, the options for eating well in Buriram are plentiful. 288 Bar has a good menu with good quality food.
Up to You Bar does nice food.
Paddy?s Irish Bar have recently updated and improved 5heir menus selection. Quality is great and choice now quite extensive for both Farang and Thai dishes.
