Title: Harley Davidson Motorbike - Mechanics & Repair
Post by: Woody on May 22, 2018, 01:22:46 PM
Hi there,

Do anyone out there know about any good mechanics that are capable of servicing/repairing Harleys?
I have a slightly modified 2003 Dyna Wide Glide that needs to be looked at (Think it could be either some wiring or electrical starter relay?) - or might just be something simple happened to it while being stored for a while...

Good to know who to go to (Or who to ask to come and take a look)....

There are a few big bike mechanics around Buriram. Not sure which ones are qualified for Harleys. Best bet is probably to pop into the Harley Bar on route 288 and ask Tom. He has a Harley. (Travelling into Buriram with BigC on your right. Get to traffic lights just after HomePro and turn left. Go past 7eleven. The first shop front of the next building is Harley Bar.) I don't think they open until about 4pm.

Just found this online if you need to order parts.

How long and where was it stored?

I had a 97 Soft tail springer which I did a bit of work on. My brother?s Electraglide had wiring issued due to moisture inside the fairings although yours does not have one you can certainly start with

1.  Battery

2.  Check to see if you get power to the starter when you engage the switch

3.  Unplug the electrical connectors between the switch and starter and clean the terminals.

4.  Have you tried push starting it?

If it was stored for a long time without draining the carb you can expect issues there as well.

Let us know how it goes!

Thanks DeputyDavid,

Its been stored in-house in the hallway - so very clean environment.
Will get on with it when I am back later. Got most of the spare parts including a new battery...
.... the problem is... :-)   the work is interfering with my spare time :-)
