Title: Chrome v Firefox
Post by: smoooth2 on January 04, 2017, 01:45:11 PM
I've been tolerating a painfully slow Google Chrome browser for the past few weeks. Tried all sorts of remedies to speed it up.

Today I got jack of the bugger. Uninstalled the sucker.

Loaded Mozilla Firefox. First time I've used it.

WOW .... it's like stepping out of a Vios and into a Ferrari. Super quick and easy to navigate.

I'm a dinosaur with regards to tech related stuff, but if you're having similiar Chrome problems, maybe just ditch it and try Firefox.

I'd be interested to hear opinions from tech savvy members on this issue.

Cheers.

I always use FF and I'm very happy with it.

Maybe this helps with the Slow Chrome issue

Hi Mike .... thanks for your input and the link. I actually looked at this link last week and tried his suggestion. Made no difference to Chrome speed at all on my computer, but perhaps it works for some ?

Oke sorry to hear that.

I don't know if you use a program to clean your browser cache ?

Here is the official page from Google on how to do this within Chrome

And another good solution for this is to use a program called "Ccleaner"

I threw Chrome away about a year ago and switched to Firefox. I've also stopped using Google search engine and use duckduckgo as my default browser search engine.

I don't know why anyone would use anything but Firefox. The addons are amazing. However on trying Chrome just now it seems to be about equally fast.
